I only use sponsored ground names in contexts where I know someone won't know what the real name is. It's Docklands Stadium, Kardinia Park and Perth Stadium.

The stadium has previously been known as:

• Colonial (Investment company)
• Telstra (Communications)
• Etihad (foreign owned Airline)

Not to mention we also have (or had) the following other stadiums around Australia:

• Metricon (construction company)
• GHMBA (health insurance)
• Optus (telecommunications - majority foreign owned)
• ANZ (banking and finance)
• Domain (real estate sales / website)
• Skilled (work force hire)
• Shell (fuel)
• Baytec (not sure)
• Simonds (construction)
• VISY (packaging and recycling)

etc., etc., etc.

It's called making money. I personally hate having corporate names on our stadiums, however if it means more money for the AFL, ergo more money for teams and development, then I'm all for it. And besides, I'd rather the stadium be named after an entertainment franchise that brings a lot of happiness to people than a ****ing blood-sucking bank or communications company.
