Then the dodgy scoring system stuffed him in the end would have been a draw without heston

Eh, thought Elena's dish deserved the 9.

The 'Egg' was closed, the chocolate tempered properly and apparently the flavours were more bold. Usually all those things would be worth more than just 1 extra point

Wanted Matt to win, but honestly this is the best of both worlds. 40k will set up his food truck. Elena will go into writing cookbooks as she is the typical Julie Goodwin type of winner, more home style.

A visit to the parfait factory

She is the Queen, no need to go to the parfait factory.

Those moulds do get a rest though now! They looked worn out.

Every ******* year its dessert that is the main decider. Get a ******* savoury upto that standard you ******* cheating campaignerrags. **** off Master dessert campaigners.

There were 60 points in savoury, that is plenty. Both the entree and main were savoury. Plus Matt had to know this. Why didn't he try more desserts...he was never going to fail them. The more you try the more technical things you know, for instance making a fairly basic panna cotta. He had how many invention tests and mystery boxes? Exactly how many desserts did he do? Not many. Elena did close to a 50/50 split, maybe fractionally more savoury.

All dishes should be blind tasted in the grand final. Matt's fish main was clearly better than the lamb and would have put him further in front come the be all and end all dessert dish. (which makes the previous rounds dishes meaningless TBH).

Congrats to Elena. As someone said Matt choked ,the better chef but Elena was better on the day and at desserts. 40k is a pretty good runner up prize. Best moment of the night was Matt's wife coming down to console him when he was in a world of pain.

See you all next year for season 9!

Thought the season was ok, but hard to see much "improvement" when most come in as gun cooks anyway. Elena and Harry probably improved the most from their bases though. Think FB could set up a handy little restaurant worth going to (or whatever she wants to do), and Nana-earrings will be able to desk out his food truck and live his dream up in Qld. I know it's "Masterchef", but I preferred earlier seasons when the contestants could cook a bit, but the improvement was more noticeable towards the end of the season. And need a few more "characters" as well.

This season was infinitely better than this thread though. 94% of it was psycho teenage s**t.
