I reckon there are a few match-ups that will be absolutely crucial to our chances next week:

David Neitz - Darren Glass
Brad Miller - Ash Hansen/Brett Jones
Brad Green - Brett Jones/Mark Nicoski
Russell Robertson - Adam Hunter
Cameron Bruce - Tyson Stenglein
Adem Yze - Michael Braun

If Miller plays forward, Brett Jones will probably take him as he's not as dangerous as Robertson.

Robertson, Green and Yze are the guys who could really kick us in the teeth next week and we don't have natural match-ups for any of them.

Nicoski got a bath when he played on Caracella, whom Green is a much better player than.

I'm not very confident about this match, purely because I think we will struggle to adequately cover these dangerous Melbourne midfielders/forwards.

Dont forget Wirra.

Braun on Yze im not too sure about. Yze has been playing deep forward this year, and i think it would be a waste to assign Braun to that role and lose his run elsewhere.
However i agree with the rest you have proposed. It will be a tough game, but im still relatively confident the boys can pull it off.

i reckon the midfield will look like this-
Bruce- Cousins
Green- Fletcher
Macca- Judd
McLean- Embley
Johnstone- Stenglein
White- Cox
Moloney- Braun
Syliva- Kerr

I'd be very surprised if all Midfielders play one on one, accountable footy. I would guess that at least 2 of those would play lose

I think for team structure you would have to go with Wirra on Yze and Chick should go with Robertson. Chick doesnt like it when taken deep into defence. so lining up on Robertson would be a better bet. What we have got is plenty of options should any of the guys get pants......

Just a huge game this week and if we get up it would almost gaurantee a top 2 finish and two home finals.

Eagles give me a grande grosso..............

Replace Neitz with Holland in all matchups. Lucky bastards.

Who's going to take Davey?

I'd put either Wirrapunda or Chick on Davey and tell 'em to push forward at every opportunity. Davey doesn't seem to be too accountable when he doesn't have the ball.

Wirra on Davey....Davey will be too worried about Wirrpunda causing so much damage from half back that he wont remember to kick any goals hopefully.

Should be a tough game. We need Cox to dominate the ruck and Seaby to have an impact when in the ruck like he did against Essendon.

I think Banners will take Davey, seeings how he took Lovett on Friday. Wirra will just play loose as usual showing no respect to his opponnent who will be left in awe of his wonderful skills :D

SEABY is the KEYBY :)

If Seaby can stand up in the ruck when he gets his chances then we are a real show. Ive noticed that in our other 2 MCG games we got off to good starts then as Cox was rested the opposition tok over a little. (Vs Coll first 3 then Lunch in ruck pies next 3, Vs Rich first 4 goals then Seaby in ruck tigers next 2) So if Seaby can keep the flow going against White and whoever else they put in the ruck we have a good chance. Good thing about Seaby is at least he can get around teh ground well.

NIETZ is out,

GLASS on ROBBO I think glass can go with Robbo in the air and on
the lead on run off him to.

HUNTER on MILLER if he plays forward can do the job I think.

CHICK on GREEN chick is good in tight.

WIRRAPUNDA on YZE at first as to run of him at every oppurtunity hopefully will put Yze off his game.

If our midfield can dominate like they have been this will go along way for
an EAGLES win. Cox and Seaby will be vital cogs here.

Wirrapunda is perfect for Yze, both have very silky ground level skills, both are decent overhead for their size.

I will be flabbergasted if Wirra starts on Davey.

Whelan on Matera, towelled him last year, and took a hanger on him.

the big matchup is going to be Stenglein on Bruce/Johnstone. You will need to shut at least one of these guys down. If one of them runs rampant, it isn't the end of the world, but if both start playing really well you could get done badly.

Have you considered that YOU will have to match up on our players. Cousins, Kerr, Judd, Fletch, Braun, Embley etc etc.

No of course not, matching up on the best midfield in the game never occurred to me at all.

idiot.

Godfrey or Phil Read in for Neitz I would presume, so one of them will tag. Then junior to tag, Sylvia and Brock to play as defensive midfielders, whilst Brucey, Green and Johnno can roam free.

I think maybe if we put Bruce on Cousins it could work to our advantage. Bruce has tagged before (See Round 1 2005 on Hird) and as soon as we have possession Bruce is very good at going forward and I think Cousins would struggle with him in the forwardline as Bruce is quite tall and a good mark. I don't know about your forwardline though. Miller will definitely not play back as our backline is playing well and twice in a row Miller has taken 10+ marks. Should be a great game.

Your strange dialect is hard to understand, but I can make out the stuff in capitals well enough to know that this is a f*cking bad idea.

Who will play on Ben Holland and Brad Green?

What are they? Wild ponies?

Will they stop to graze?
