We need a longer term forward. Lloyd may be good, but he only has 1 or 2 seasons left in him. If we did get him, ye, we would be a lot better but then he would retire very shortly and we would take another big step backwards like we have done with fevola.

The thing is i thought we were a top 4 side with Fevola wouldn't Lloyd kind of replace him for a couple of years at a chance for a flag. We could get him to coach our forward line how to lead at least if not play for us.

this shows the negativity and lack of creativity some of you guys have..the dude has an interesting albeit slightly deluded point. I mean Lloyd is retired, but we should made an underhanded charge late last year after his retirement. I mean we went hard for Bradshaw, I reckon Lloyd was better than Bradshaw, and we really needed an older hand on the ground to teach our green forward line...

Seriously if it weren't for Betts our forward line is as good/crap as Richmonds'. Betts is our major goal kicker and he's what,5'9 or less.

Hendo and Kreuz just aren't clicking yet, and while Setants is keen, he can't hold a mark and it gets turned over too easily. Maybe when Judd arrives things change, but Ratts hasnt got our fwd setup happening to really harass team, unless theyre Richmond!

Hi all, my first post but I've been a reader for quite some time.

Firstly this is actually not as bad as it sounds, if the MC didnt think we needed a power forward then they wouldn't have made a play for Bradshaw, we didn't get him so we have had to revert to lets try and make what we have work.

And I think last night showed that we don''t have much, I'm fan of Henderson but he clearly a work in progress, but I may get booed and yes he is maybe sitting 5th on the goal kicking but Setanta clearly is not AFL standard (As a forward)

Yes he maybe and athlete he may demonstrate basic skills (just) but we are NOT going to win a Grand Final with Setanta at FF.

Way too unpredictable, can't take a big grab when needed, what was he thinking in the 3rd qrt when he tried to screw one around the corner..... he can barely kick straight and he's trying to bend one around around the corner, come on footy 101 says put out it to the top of the square.

He has not understood the basic principles of the game and the goal that he kicked in the last if you look at he is actually trying to pass it to Henderson.... come on just kick the goal or at least hand ball.... know your limitations.

Having said that with Llyod at FF I think it could benefit our forward line enormously.....

Younger than Hall so he's not too old, can still jump, as shown on the footy show so why the hell not, he could show our forwards things that Matty Lappin sure as hell cant.....

And for those that think it would send us back years that is just plain nieve... how could Matty Lloyd send us any further back then what we are he would give us some hope, a target I couldn't help but think last night that if we had Fev that at least we would have a target.... and again I will pre empt you in saying that if as a team we cant make the right decision and come up with a game plan that doesn't revolve around 1 forward then sack the whole coaching staff.

We can still be dangerous if we just make right decision and it was also bad on CFC behalf that we couldn't control Fev (he seems to be under wraps at the Lions.....)

Why can't we have him with Hendo at CHF and Yarran, Betts and co use Setantas ability at CHB to free up Waite can some please tell me why that couldn't logically work.

Then once he has retired I think you have all forgotten about someone on our list who I truly believe is the next coming...... Levi Casboult!!!!

Imagine the big fella with 2 years of Lloydies tuition..... DEADLY!!!!!!!

Then we will surely be ready.....

Fairly well said. Lloyd would be a big threat up forward with our midfield. He would be a great leader and would inspire the players around him. He will also teach our young forwards and be very useful in their development. Yes, i agree completely that we cannot win a premiership with Setanta up forward. We need another FF thats is young. Possibly Casboult, possibly Donaldson. who knows? But Mathew Lloyd's leadership would help them a long way. Barry Hall did it. Lloyd is younger. why can't he do it?

How many years do you think he would play?

Why would a year out help any of that??
