Anyone know who exactly is playing where?

Apparently Matt Carr is lining up in the WAFL. Seems very ominous that he's on the fringe at the moment. You wouldn't expect a senior player like him to be playing WAFL. Particularly when he's already had plenty of practise games.

EDIT: not sure if the above is correct. Can anyone confirM?

correct me if I am wrong, but i believe m carr has played every game this pre season

his form must be a real worry if he is being made to play WAFL a week before the season starts

East Freo's midfield will be interesting this year. If everyone is fit they could have as many as 5 of Matt Carr/Macca/Ibbo/Peake/Foster/Dunn in their 22 and rotating through the middle.

True - as well as Masten and McNamara from the other lot.

Geez they do breed 'em, the Sharks...

I was looking for WAFL lists for this weekend, but couldn't find anything. If Big Carr is playing this week, I reckon you could almost certainly rule him out for the 1s next week. This will be his 6th pre-season match.

1. Blackie - pull your head in and don't get yourself suspended. Needs to build up match fitness.
2. Kepler - meh.
3. MCarr - surprising. Does this sit him on the fringe??
4. Drum - hasn't he played all games? Sounds like they're giving him a chance to try and grab one of the last few spots in the 22.
4. Duff - as above
5. Hinkley - as above??? He certainly hasn't had an interrupted pre-season.
6. Brock -ooooohhhh... he's on his way back! :thumbsu:
7. Nockers - Needs to build up match fitness.
8. Webster - as above.

Veerrrryyyy interesting list

Harv's said that they played a bit of a scratchie at training today and Bell was a part of that - I think he's been in Perth for most of the week and will be back by Wednesday for the main session next week before heading over for the Collingwood game.

He had an operation didn't he but I didn't think he started that far behind the others so yeah you would think so.
How many did Drum and Duffield play?Didnt seem to miss too many .

To be honest if M Carr plays round 1 i won't be to happy, if his crap form continues and he keeps playing then i will loose faith in Harve's early but i think that what happened with CC won't happen with him.

"3. MCarr - surprising. Does this sit him on the fringe?? "

I certainly hopes so. along with a few more ageing and not so ageing players

The thing that harvey has to get right is blending YOUTH with experience.
He pumped up andrew foster yesterday on Peeeeeerah which was great re the midfield(when fit) but he'll "rotate 10 or so players thru midfield"

Hopefully Palmer & Ibbo are part of the ten.

We may have slow short people in the midfield but Colon Wood have short people in the back half with no Clement and Presti.

Who in the **** are they going to have on Pav, Tarrant and the real killer would be Big Bord/Nockers in the Pocket

Also we can expose them in the ruck PROVIDED it is directed to our midfielders.

I swear I don't buy that rag, but i nicked the footy part from a friend's house (it's truuuueeee!!!!)...

but here is some stuff from the Slimes today:

  • Hase and Matt Carr attended an "intense coaching accreditation course" last weekend (same weekend as the port game). They spent 2 days in lectures and practical sessions from top coaches, including Sheeds. Hase will officially join Freo's support staff and sit in the coaches box during Freo games, as well as coach the Attadale u-15s. Carr will be a part-time assistant to the WA u-18s team.
  • Huge headline "History against Harvey" saying that the weight of expectations, along with him technically being a first year coach means Freo won't win the premiership.
  • A Haggers headline that says "Dockers as good as 2000 Bombers: Johnson"... if that's not setting us up to fall then what is? MaJ said, "The atmosphere and determination in this Fremantle playing group and coaching staff is a hell of a lot like the way things were when I strated at Essendon. Fremantle is definitley the most talented group I've been associated with... we have enormous depth... there's a strong mental will..."
  • He also says that he is working with Hase who is a "smart footballer and I want to learn from someone like him". MaJ wants to break out of his stereotypical role as a BP, and play forward with stints in the middle at times.
  • Then there's a nice puff-piece on what a good guy Priddis is.

Sorry - started as a comment on MCarr, then expanded.

Pretty sure there were two articles on what a good guy Priddis is.

Actually you're right. Plus another on Chad Fletcher and how the media should stop hounding him about what happened in Las Vegas. The weagles are "closing the book" on it, as they are concerned for his welfare and they have to do "what is best for Chad".

Any word on who the better players were from the scratchie?
