Crouch is underdone, but also doesn’t have the attributes for what we need, he’s trying. Walker would go for one hand grabs and provide 0 follow up before 2021.

2018 was clearly injured, rushed back from injury, still managed to kick 26 from 14 games, on track for another 40 goal plus season
2019 43 goals
2020 poor year and again carrying injuries but this was his one poor year when we thought he was finished.
2021 48 goals from 17 games
2022 14 goals so far from 4 games

I think we can all agree between 2018-2020 he was far below his capabilities. Thought it was 4 years, its 3. Goals are not the sole metric, otherwise Daniel Meznel wouldn't have been delisted.

Is there anything wrong with not seeing things through red, blue and yellow glasses? I was not a fan of his leadership (see the GF when the boys turned on each other) and how he handled himself on social media, in comparison to leaders like Pendles and Cotchin who would never go there. Even at his best, he played such a limited & low damage game that it's questionable if we were better for his presence. Now he's a bloke who gets a few seagull cheapies, refuses to take the game forward and floats around on defence without care. The side is infinitely better with a young fella who'll at least show some tenacity and aggression and try and take it forward; the game has got faster and Matt has got slower. It's a terrible mix.

If we think we'll get anything for him on the open market we're deluded. Low hurt, slow, and unaccountable inside mids are dime a dozen over the whole league. Blokes (who I'd suggest are better players) like Luke Dunstan

Crouch is part of the problem, Crouch as no other string to his bow.

If needed Laird can play back, Keays wing or forward whereas Crouch can only play midfield

Crouch other issue is he always looks sideways, then backwards before holding up the ball and kicking up the line.... His game needs to evolve to the modern game
