Obvious troll is obvious.Who the fu** is Matt Guelfi?
Thats a made up name right? This thread is a prank?
I shit you not. I had to go to footywire to see if he was a legit player. And I watch a reasonable amount of footy.Obvious troll is obvious.
Could’ve done it quietly. Do you have something productive to add rather than declaring your ignorance like it’s a badge of honour?I sh*t you not. I had to go to footywire to see if he was a legit player. And I watch a reasonable amount of footy.
Have you watched the two play? Genuine question. The pair are polar opposites. Guelfi is a hard nut that lacks polish and is a really good two way runner. Zaharakis is a soft outside player that has really good kicking skills.I put Guefli as Zaharakis MkII. Has 1 outstanding game against Pies then is a ordinary player outside of it. Worth is 3rd round or late 2nd at best in a trade. I actually say Nelson is slightly better because he's a good 1 on 1 defender.
I didn't compare player types. I compared their Careers. Both had an outbreak game but outside of that are very ordinary for the rest.Have you watched the two play? Genuine question. It's like comparing Roarke Smith with Caleb Daniel.
You literally said Guelfi was Zaharakis Mk II.I didn't compare player types. I compared their Careers. Both had an outbreak game but outside of that are very ordinary for the rest.
That is the strangest comparison I've ever seen. If Guelfi was half the footballer Zaka was we'd be saying hands off to everyone else. You seem to have a very strange perception of Zaka's career. He wasn't a superstar or anything, but he was a quality footballer for a long time.I put Guefli as Zaharakis MkII. Has 1 outstanding game against Pies then is a ordinary player outside of it. sort of player I would expect to be delisted tbhHow is this thread worthy? Wouldn't get a packet of chips in a trade
We'd be crazy to. Guy is a fringe player that can play in all three areas of the ground and do an acceptable job. Plenty of others I'd cut before himsort of player I would expect to be delisted tbh
Out of curiosity would you be able to list say 4-5 out of contract dons on the senior list you’d cut before him (Zaka and hooker I’m assuming get tapped into retirement then maybe 3 more?)We'd be crazy to. Zaka, Hooker, Johnson, Ambrose, Cutler, Mozzie, as well as Gleeson and Clarke as rookies.Out of curiosity would you be able to list say 4-5 out of contract dons on the senior list you’d cut before him (Zaka and hooker I’m assuming get tapped into retirement then maybe 3 more?)
Re-signed for 1 year.
While I agree with this. I also think he reminds me a lot of Parish 2 years ago. I think Guelfi would be a very good inside midfielder. We just have better options there now.Guelfi's not awful but he lacks polish. He cracks in super hard, is strong, pretty decent in the air, decent pace but lacks football nous. Doesn't find tons of the ball, poor to below average user of the ball. Has been tried a fair bit as a lockdown small defender but gives away lots of frees and struggles with the tricky forwards. Also doesn't provide much rebound the other way, can intercept mark a bit though.
His best games have mostly been on the wing but you'd probably want someone better.
He's the type of guy that would be like the 25th - 30th best guy on a lot of clubs lists and with his versatility will probably end up getting some games.
What that's worth in a trade scenario who knows. Not much. But maybe one club out there will rate him a bit higher. I think the most we'd get for him might be a late 3rd rounder.
