Roast Matt Lobbe, the new Troy Chaplin finger pointer

Can't blame injury any more big fella. Your ruck work and lack of chasing opposition ruckmen around the ground, combined with a remarkable inability to mark a football make you a liability.

When I then see you pointing fingers while you let your opponent lead up for an uncontested mark, I get pretty mad.

Time to call you out as the new Troy Chaplin.

Lobbe can't play alongside another ruckman and is no longer our best ruckman....

He can join Jonas and Hartlett for a run in the twos.

He was good as a full time ruck in a poor team who could just limit the damage. Doesn't jump in the ruck. Just tries to stop the opposition from getting away clean.

He's no good in a team that wants to win a premiership. He's even worse working in tandem with another ruck cause he offers nothing around the ground.

Depth player. and we just signed him for 4 years on good money.

Bit harsh on the Lobster, he's got enough credits carrying our side in the ruck over the past two years.

Sure he's been well below his best but he's second and third efforts around the contest and tackling is as good as ever - he got 10 tackles tonight. The thing I always notice is Lobbe is always pulling opposition blokes off our guys at ball ups and giving his team mates a hand up - very un-Chaplin like. He feels like the heart and soul of the midfield. 3 bad games doesn't earn you a Chaplin tag-season after season of deflecting blame and finger pointing and he'd be like the Troy.

He definitely needs to step up and offer more around the ground and clunk a few grabs but he's no where near our worst

Ridiculous thread. Lobbe was far from our worst today, and 29 hit outs and 10 tackles show he was working hard around the contest all day.
Also, yes we all know Lobbe is a poor mark, but he took 2 grabs today including a really good contested mark right when we needed one. Calling him out on marking today is just throwing the baby out with the bath water.
Lobbe works 10 times as hard as Chaplin ever did, comparing the two is insulting.
Grow up.
