Very sad. So sudden - a few months ago he thought he was perfectly healthy.

My condolences to his family and friends.

Vale Matt Price. Clever, funny man. And "Way to Go" was so good it almost made you want to be a Dockers follower. (Reminded me of my childhood's beloved Washington Senators.)

Very sad news.

Matt was unashamedly Freo, and one of the most informed and articulate voices in the Australian media for a long time.

Condolences to his family and friends.

As someone who's graduated with a Journalism degree, it's easy for me to point out that the writings of Matt Price, his sense of humour and the serious-yet-cheeky style of writing, were serious inspirations.

Too often than not, media pundits (especially those dealing with politics) invoke a holier-than-thou attitude, rising themselves above those they write about. This was never the case with Matt Price. You sense that he wrote not because it was what gave him his pay cheque, but because he loved the written word and loved what he wrote about.

Someone (not Matt) once wrote that for people who wrote, the mantra they must follow was;

"Live to write, don't write to live".

Something which I think Matt would definitely have known.

Condolences above all to his young family, and to the Fremantle Football Club - you've lost one of the most passionate and loyal friends you've ever had. A sad day indeed.

RIP Matt Price and condolences to his family and Fremantle supporters, he was a shining light at the Government Gazette and will be sadly missed.

I always considered him to be one of the better journalists in the business.

As I'm not a Docker's supporter I can only guess, but I would imagine that his writings on the Docker's fortunes would have brought you great strength.

Condolences to his wife and children.

Well, what can I say.

Rabid Fremantle supporter, gave the club a decent voice in the media, only one of very very few journalists to do so.

Was very impartial in his political reporting and commentary, more than what can be said for many turkeys masquerading around as journalists.

I hope this fires up the football club to put in a hughe 2008 on the field.

very upsetting news. My deepest sympathy to Matt's family and friends. Also I want to extend my sympathy to the Fremantle football club and its supporters. Matt Price was one hell of a Dockers supporter, loyal and a true believer. My mum (a Dockers fan) is shattered.:(

This one really hurts, I don't know what to say except my sympathy to the Price family and RIP to Matt.

You were were one of the real good guys in an industry where decency isn't a strong trait.

Looked like a lovely bloke. Watched him on Insiders on ABC a bit.
He was very good on that.
45 years is way too soon. RIP Mat.

Gotta say that Matt Prices passing has effected me quite a bit.

Makes you look at your own life and ask whether you are living life to the full. Condolences to his family.

Top bloke and my copy of 'Way To Go' will be an even more cherished possession.

Very sad to hear of Matt's passing. Loved to hear his views on the insiders and back in the channel 9 days, he will be missed...condolences to the Price family.

RIP
