Matt White was fantastic last night. I loved the way he played and the position he was played in too. I hope he can retain his spot as he is playing a similar role to what Knights played before doing his knee. He's tough to match up on across half forward.

White can have an off game every once in a while and therefore be criticised. It's obvious he's probably not in our best 22 if everyone is fit and firing. But, I love how it always feels like he's giving 100%. He always tries his best no matter how well the team is playing. He's also the the of player that when the team is playing well, he stands out as one of our better players on the night or at least a generator / link up man to that success.

I dunno, hopefully he finds a way to keep playing each week and can produce something similar to last night.

We all know who he supported as a kid too, so I reckon we might all see a bit of him in ourselves

was in our best 22 after the pre-season but got left out. I cant understand why they give him negative roles. He is a fast attacking midfielder that hurts you on the scoreboard.... he deserves way more respect than what he gets. If he is forced out of the side thenI can see another club grabbing him.

He forced me to eat some humble pie last night. His run & carry, tackling and just plain desire was second to none. He used his pace to perfection yesterday. Still think he'll come out of the side for Conca or Ellis but well done Matty.

Bit of enigma is Whitey. He brained them last night and you will hear "Richmond, Matthew White, 2 votes" later this year. Blistering speed, always at the front in endurance runs during pre-season. I asked myself the question earlier this year why he wasn't played on-ball more often.....

Not sure how many times I've written the same post but here is comes again.

White doesn't have the skills of a best 22 player but he has a yellow and black heart and gives his all every game he players. Happy to see him perform well.

I thought his problem was his football know how, not pure skill per se. He also seemed to run in straight lines quickly with little lateral poise. He has improved though:thumbsu:

Many also rans have improved down there in Tigerland:eek: Like Jackson:D

WTF is going on down there??:D

Is that you Choco??? making our team better??o_O;):D:thumbsu:

*puts hand up to thinking his days were 100% over and shouldn't ever get a game again

He has really really improved and if you want to take the coaching meaning in a literal sense they have done well with Matty!!

Let's not get too "toasty" though. We all know one bad game and we'll see a roast "Matt White. Dud. Delist." thread. ;)
Thought I'd get in on it with the bye this week. Gives it at least two weeks! ;)

Think he makes the perfect sub with his combination of speed, carry and work rate. Also capable of snagging a goal or two on his day.

Great to see him play well last night, one of my favourite tigers. Not the flashiest guy but has heart and fight in abundance. Has played as the sub a few times and (from what I've seen) hasn't ever kicked up a fuss. Just seems happy to be out there. When he got a chance to start, he took it with both hands. Should have earned some good will to stay in the side for a few weeks.

I think we lack a bit of pace and White can bring that in spades. Really hope he use this as a platform and start playing some more consistent footy. On ya Matty White - the Sunbury Speedster :thumbsu:

Sledged his inclusion prior to the melbourne game but he was in the bests 2-3 last night. Seems to like Patersons wide open spaces, so maybe the eagles would entertain a trade.

I guess if Nic Nat was thrown up for trade, we might be able to work something out :D

For 2 blokes who are on the list for the same role, there is a massive difference in commitment and intensity between whitey and nahas. Can see why they've kept him on the list for so long

I loved white's presence up fwd, (and around the ground)much prefer him to nahas.. hope he stays in the team

Whitey is one guy ive always liked, i love the way he pulls the jumper when he kicks a big goal, you can tell he loves the tigers, i really really want us to keep him

Lets see if can string a couple together now. Lets get real here, he did extremely well last night, produced what he has in the past, but we all know next week he can go from hero to zero in a twinkling. But good stuff last night, was given a mission in the first half and excuted it to perfection, run Whitey run!!! ;)

Loved his game.
I thought he single handedly kept us in it in the first quater where we looked like being blown away.
We were very shakey and I thought on the cusp of WC slamming home a few quick ones but Matt kept bobbing up, chasing, tackling, getting the ball, running and attacking.
If he can play like that every week he is well in our best 22.
That is the challenge though, and that is where our improvement needs to come from.
