doesn't offer any special insight or draw on his experiences or expertise as a former great of the game. just sticks to basic statements and comments on things we already know. then rewords the same point seconds later, essentially repeating himself. its actually pathetic. guys like duck and riewoldt provide much better insight.

'great start to devon smiths career at essendon. essendon needed that goal.'

'he has been a great recruit for essendon and has started the season well'

Richo is fine. And speaks about footy the only way anyone can. Its a simple game although the AFL has tried to make it like you need a university degree to follow it probably even to play the hybrid shit they play sometimes now, especially the lower teams , shit footy= packs stop stop stop stop stop stop stop flow , drop ball , kick badly free what for???free what for???? stop stop stop stop stop stop kick pass to flank because goal kicker better from banana kick can't kick straight or to frightened to kick straight.. kick out from point to flank or wing stop stop stop stop out of bounds go same way all day .........no such thing as centre shortest way to goal, pass to flanks stop stop stop stop stop stop stop free what for stop stop 50 penalty 50 penalty stop stop ...goal from free, bounce... free in centre or another ball up stop stop stop before getting out of centre, oops player kicks ball out on full from rear of ankle from 8 inches out doesn't even know it ...free kick then punch out then a boundary ball in.... stop stop stop stop stop stop,in the middle of all this scrapping and 20 tackles in a group in about 25 seconds no one can get out... that is rugby rugby rugby rugby rugby .... anything from 4 to 10 players scrounging around the boundary or in packs... looks horrible ... stop stop stop stop stop stop... we still go by the thousands because its our game........the AFL don't give a shit about the state of the game, stop stop stop stop.... pack pack pack pack pack ball up ball up ball up ball..... only two out of nine games per weekend rise to the occasion of decent football ayt this level to watch sometimes three.....lower clubs lousy, AFL still living in "clueless land" still diluted.... some second rate players get games.... 18 clubs for TV rights..... Mc Glaghlan CEO gets fortune in cushy job not much better than Ahmed Fahour he wrecked post... stop stop stop stop stop...... winning team gets two goals from petty 50's free kicks stop stop stop stop struggle struggle finish. Game too fast... injuries galore... winning team wins by 8 points HAH!

BUT no same every year just...... rule change rule change rule change rule change rule change rule change rule change!

Right now the AFL needs to never touch the rules again, only to ease up on the shit that is ruining the spectacle , and if you think its spectacular , well it is on few occasions, or you've never seen good open moving football, I feel sorry for you, but mostly its crappy packs, and lack of footy smarts and skill except from a handful of players from each team, some team's lucky enough to get quality players ,or maybe just smarter admins!!??. Before we had a pool thatjust fitted the numbers , now we've over killed for money and a great deal of bullshit , and Tasmania has been kicked in the backside, by gold coast and GWS, what a mess, sorry for whinging but thats the state of the game kids.

Wouldn't mind seeing the early 2000's and 1990's again! And I follow and am a member of the greatest club in 65 years!!!!!!!!!!!!! Still love it but it is being mangled. And we've nearly lost what it was, NEARLY! SO WHAT DO WE DO, PROBABLY SIT ON OUR HANDS AND GET DICTATED TO BY CORPORATE MONEY TURDS. er BAGS????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

He comes across as a likeable guy.

Doesn’t play favourites in games (apart from his obvious tiger bias) so calls it as he sees it. Usually it’s quite a simple take on the game but it’s a good break from analysts being too smart for their own good (I’m looking at you Dermott and Kingy).

His love and knowledge of the South African keeper is really amazing. Never known anyone to have seen more of, enjoyed more of or have a broader love of the South African keeper - well except for Ranthy. He could get a gig too I'm sure.
