Not sure how you dreamed up that scenario, but I have serious doubts that Aish has anything to do with Bergs decision to re-sign.
Sans the love that dare not speak it's name you wouldn't think it would be a consideration

I was ribbing some Crows and Lions supporters on the main trade board in the Scharenberg thread saying Shaz was signing for 3 years and Aish was coming to Pies to be with his mate. Hence the rumours of Aish wanting to come to Victoria instead of SA. Forgive me, I couldn't help myself

im not negative.. when i left school at started uni.. i established friendships in the first week.. what matthew has been at the club for 2 yrs and what? doesnt get along with 40 other players and 100s of staff members.. what a load of crap.

You realise there is a difference between getting along superficially and actually having friends right? He might get along with them at training ok but barely sees them outside football.

I don't know Scharenburg at all but your showing your ignorance of different personalities. Just because you make friends easily doesn't mean everyone does.

If he's going it better be because Dangerfield has picked us and Adelaide will match any offer and we are forced to throw him up o_O

i didnt realise i needed my friends in the workplace.. how you link a professional environment to having your best buddies join you is beyond me unless youre running a pizza shop. you call me ignorant? perhaps i should get on the phone to wayne rooneys manager and tell him to leave manchester united cause hes friends arnt there. i would call you ignorant but its not in my nature to do so.. how many friends you grew up with do you work with? next time you sign an employment contract be sure it stipulates i want my friend to join me.

If Scharenberg can't find a bit of a friendship with a least one or two of the 50 or so blokes on our list, is there a suggestion of some deviance in his behaviour, or a treatable mental health issue? You expect the first 10 new draftees will match up to the rigours of AFL football, both physically and emotionally. You'd also hope that passion is another arrow the good ones would add early to their quiver.

Has a wedge been driven between him and the entire playing list? If so why? What formed the wedge? The lack of friends, no teammates in deserted locker rooms willing to soak up the story of his life, or mates at barbies prepared to swap boyish banter and secretive ribaldry while their wives and partners cluster like cowered penguins in a corner.

Why hasn't Scharenberg found a kindred spirit or mentor? And there any health issues impacting his relationships and his personal worth? Is he just not a nice sort of bloke?

So many questions to be asked, but so few answers to be found. It won't be that long before the present catches up with the future, and we'll know if he's off to SA.

Can't see that being the case, the club are very keen on signing him and wouldn't be offering him up for trade, even for dangerfield

Wasn't there talks that Aish could be going to Scum

Yeah I read that somewhere, makes no sense as they suck. $$$ must be the reason.
I don't think aish would want to goto Carlton. But it gives him a huge negotiation advantage if he says he does. If he tells everyone he's happy to goto Carlton. The fear of him walking to them with pick 1 of the pre season draft or rookie draft which ever one it is lowers the asking price of Brisbane

Lol didn't even read that. If the Berg can't answer that there are some contract issues to sort out, either he is gone or something else is going on that can't be disclosed. Scodogs vague hint strengthed that . Then got carried away by the whole friends and family discussion.

Not sure how anyone without immediate links to the club has any real idea on Sharenbergs intentions, personality or friendships. Time will tell. Reckon he is more likely to stay as more often players don't move after 2 seasons.

I reckon you're right about him staying but don't tell Brisbane players don't leave after their first contract is up.

He will stay and I am basing it on one little act at the end of the game.

The siren went and he was in the defensive goal square on his own.

He then proceeded to do a "little fist pump" to himself.

It was a nice touch to a very forgettable game.

The kid is a beauty has got a great footy brain not many in our team do :drunk:

Well a Scout at the Club said he is GOING NOWHERE

It most certainly does. He's not worth pick 1. He's worth maybe more than pick 19. But pick 19 is the very best they'll get for Aish.

Was it just me or did he seem to attack the contest a little harder this week? He seemed to have more intensity than I have seen previously.

They may prefer a player that can step into their 22 and a later pick. Pick 26/27 and a Seedsman might be a better option than pick 19. Can't imagine Carlton have a player that Brisbane would want other than maybe Yarran or Henderson back

Proof that he is a scout?
Having followed ~the Scout~ posting history for many years on another board, his post draft synopsis on our draftees, along with some of the information he's been able to provide during trade time, I can say with some certainty, he's involved with our list management to some degree.

I recall specifically when we were trying to land Clinton Young during free agency. Geoff Walsh came out and said we are done and won't be completing any more trades. We all thought we must have missed Young as it was reported he'd been offered only a 2 year deal with Hawthorn. We had been reported as offering 3. 2 days later Scout says we are not out of the running for Young, with FA due to finish the following day. Young was signed the next day. That's just one example. He doesn't post as much as he used too because some on that site started potting him and recruitment team for some of our selections and he grew tired of defending them.

It's why I no longer have any concerns with Scharenberg leaving.

Won't be slashing my wrists if he happens to leave given we would get a late first rounder for him.
Obviously he's a chance to get there but right now is miles away from becoming a player he was projected to be based on junior career.
His possessions count in 2 senior outings is rather deceptive, lots of dinky 1-2 hospital handpasses but bugger all meaningful kicks/plays.

Proof that he is a scout?

Well before the 2010 Draft I asked who we are looking to Draft. Gave me 5 Names and we Drafted 3.

He is ~TheScout~ on here but not posted for some time
