Just announced on 5AA News.
.

A few seconds after the announcement, macca 23 bolted down to the bottle shop to pick up a couple cartons of coopers pale ale. Can we expect to see you in at work tomorrow macca? :D

By the way, deja vu. Who remembers 2003?

Smith wasn't announced in the initial round of delistings. Then a week later he was given the flick.

Only to be later brought back via the rookie list.

I assume he's too old for the rookie list this time?
Might come back on the veteran's list though

Stevens retired. Begley retired. Watts departed. Doesn't leave us a lot to delist. Which of Schuback, Krueger and (apparently) Smith should have stayed instead of Bode?

Sounds like you want a guarantee that Bode will be available for Glenelg on a permanent basis. If that's the case, then he can't be that bad.

I think we'll see him at Glenelg just as much. I guess Watts wasn't an expected departure 2 months ago either, so if he stayed 1 more would have gone and I would have thought that might have been Bode.

Looks like Craigy found a way to get those photos :p
Surely Macca had something to do with it. :p

Small line on the main board saying Matthew Smith has been delisted. Anyone confirm this?

Think I just saw Macca 23 dancing with joy past my window. Is that confirmation enough?

Fergus said:
Yep - pretty sure I saw macca23 doing naked cartwheels past my window. Not a pretty sight

Sad for the young fella. I can't help but feel macca23 is partly to blame.

its all macca23's fault

Sounds sensible enough. But whoever it was that suggested that, it wasn't me.
That's alright, I let you take the credit. ;)

I reckon AFC have got the delistings spot on after today's news.

Stevens, Massie & Bode are worth keeping as experienced depth players, leaving us enough room to bring in enough young blood for 2006.

100% spot on is right Kane.

Stevens, Massie & Bode represent 1 KPP, 1 utility and 1 on-baller as reserve players. after them there's not a lot of additional depth excluding the young bucks.

As for the 3 recent delists they have been on our list for a combined total of 11 years for 5 games. Hard to argue with that IMO.

If that's our experienced backup .....what a frightening thought.....

Stevens..not up to the standard...
Massie ..the games gone past him
Bode...really struggled for 2 years now...

I'm excited. We can look forward to following the SANFL form of least 8-9 new Crows kids next year.

All the above players whilst not world beaters are hardly hacks & have made useful contributions. You need experienced depth players, as you will put youngsters to the wolves if you have too many youngsters on the list & forced to play them too early.

Good luck in the future Matthew. You have served us well over the past five years as our team practice tackling bag. :D

umm on the AFC website on the players list it has hinge as a "senior player" and griffins all by himself on the "rookie list" page..

That would be because Hinge was elevated onto the senior list during the season to replace either Begley or Bode who were on the long term injury list.

Won't be picked up unless its by one of the dodgy clubs (Port) looking for captain material
