What are peoples thoughts? Need to upgrade one of him, Bradshaw, Ellis or Symes and was leaning towards Mattner. He doesn't seem to be winning a whole lot of ball and the 97 last week was only on the back of 12 tackles.

BE seems to be about 73 this week though, so unlikely he'll fall. Have about 60-70K to play with.

Thoughts?

i upgraded mattner last week:rolleyes:. still think he needs an upgrade but it should be in 2 weeks now (same with ellis). if you are copping a zero trade symes because he's still at least 2 weeks away.

Yeah I think the 0 will sway me. Plus Adelaide have a lot of players in the midfield so query how mcuh time he'll get for the remainder of the season.

midfield time isn't a worry. he will rack them up in the backline. he did at port anyway. not to mention that adelaides backs all score fairly well eg. bock, mcleod, johncock.

But thats kind of the point isn't it? They' already got a huge number of those guys who play the running link roles and rack up the possessions.

Anyway, it doesn't matter. It seems stupid tp upgrade one of the others and cop a zero for another 2-3 weeks

While Kennely is out he will keep getting more of the ball

Kenelly is likely to play this week, and with the surprise inclusion of Malceski i highly doubt he will be able to improve on what he has done already this year. The idea at the start of the season was that he would take over Malceski's running back role but with all 3 in the side now he will have to play more accountable footy. In saying this riding out his next 2 weeks wouldn't be too bad, alot of cheap underperforming backman at the moment, the 2 weeks will give you more time to see who is most likely to return to their old form.

Doubt it...... injury report has him down at 1-2 weeks.

I would be very very surprised if he plays this week, and it would be quite stupid if he does considering Malceski is back Kennelly doesn't need to be rushed..

You're in the exact same situation as myself.

I have Bradshaw, Ellis, and Mattner, along with Symes on my bench.

I really don't know what to do.

I'm definitely looking at trading one out for Myers. Just not sure which one. I'm probably leaning towards either Ellis or Mattner at this stage.
Ellis got time in the midfield last week and racked up the points against Port while Mattner had 12 tackles in his 97.

I just think Symes could end up being one of my back 7 heading into the finals of DT.

Bradshaw is an enigma. Started off well to the season but has struggled the last two games. I'd wait a couple more rounds on him to see where he is at.

At the end of the day, my backs need an upgrade and I can't afford another 3 weeks of zeros.

If Proud gets named, it might save Symes but otherwise, Symes to mackie.

Upgraded Mattner to Milburn last week but still copping zeroes from Waters and Symes.

It's hard because with quality backs this year so rare to come by, I decided to sit tight with those two and try and make the points up elsewhere in my side for now... Ended up going Griffen to Bartel so hopefully that pays off!

He actually might be right mate. Unbelievably, there is a chance he's back this week:

Code:
"Meanwhile, Tadhg Kennelly’s prognosis is optimistic with the talented running defender possibly back as early as this week."

I may have a full, albeit slightly underdone team for the first time in ages with Kennelly and Chad back...

Oh wait, Riewoldt! Or is there good news there also?!?!

I've had Mattner all season. His worst game for the year was a few weeks back but I still think he's good value. He tackles well and kicks more often than handballing so I'm still holding onto him. Unless your going to upgrade to a Cornes or Burgoyne, it might be best to keep him IMO.
