Most people said he wouldn’t debut this year due to his size coming into pre season and now you want to play him on the competitions most dangerous medium forward on his debut a few months later

What an extremely weird sentence.

So because most people were terribly wrong about him not making his debut this season, its wrong to suggest he matches up Toby a few months later?

Let the kid settle into his career , he’s still the same lad of about 3 months ago , no need to over burden a debutante . There will be some contests where he’s opposed to green but it’s Doedee job as a leader to take the role on

Ps I was saying he’d be in mix for round 1 as soon as we drafted him

Couldn’t possibly pick Hamill on form

Keen to see your team though as rate your thoughts
Why, the team basically picks itself on trial and intraclub stuff....only interest from my point of view will be who the bench will be made up of.

I know it's likely not happening but personally I'd have Hamill in before both Parnell and Milera.....big leap of faith to consider Milera if he has personal issues and isn't training?
Yeah, strange. Last night’s 9news said Milera would be a starter, but I guess that was 16 hours ago and before he was a no-show at training.
And… not sure Parnell is big enough to stand up against Giants😉

The game is still 11 days away. I guess it depends on the nature of Milera's personal issues, and how long they take to resolve. He could be good to go on the 19th, or he may not be - but there's certainly no need to be writing him off this far out, even if he does miss a few training sessions this week.

Max will likely get some time on Peatling and Connor Stone

That’s the best way to use him this year IMO , playing against similar aged players of similar weight ( no matter the height )

It’s not just required , let him settle into an afl career
Exactly, it would be crazy to let MM stand Greene
I never understand people wanting to put one of your least experienced defenders on their top forwards.
Let the guys getting paid the big bucks do the hard jobs.
Otherwise it sounds like a Massie V Franklin duel again and we all know how that ended up

👍 it could be a gamble that could set him back 12 months in his development

I don't think it's that crazy to give Michalaney some time on one of the best medium forwards in the game. He's a lock down hybrid defender after all and we're in a learning phase. We've got options so don't have to stick with him.
I have no doubt he will have some contests on him with rotations etc

But there is no sense in giving him the full time match up to start the game

Why would you do it ? It’s a body weight mismatch for start and we aren’t desperate , we have other natural match ups eg Doedee

Just pick your damn team already. Sheesh.

I don't hate the idea of matching up against Greene. Structurally, it seems fine. Frees up Parnell to be able to offer more run and carry and Doedee is a better interceptor to partner with Dawson. The rewards are there too for Michaelanney, seeing that scalp buys a lot of time in the best 22. Downside is Greene gets a hold of him, but that's also a good lesson for Max.

I'm all for saying '**** it, we ball' here.
