Geelongs Max Rooke approached the club last week with an unusual request. He wanted to spend game day inside the club's mascot suit.
The Mascot is called Half Cat, and we're assured Rooke wasn't half cut when he made the request. Just curious, we're told. Out suspended, Rooke wanted to don the big cat suit for the curtain-raiser VFL game between Geelong and Tasmania. In the end he backed out after being asked by teammate Tom Lonergan to film, with a video camera, his first game back after losing a kidney.

The guy is a classic! Total club man.

It would not surprise me if it was Rooke. I noted half cat smashed a goal through from about 35m out to the city end. Top kick!

haha this is a bloody pisser, this is the kinda ppl u want at ur club to keep some character in it. wonder what else he requests to do or has done in the change rooms lol

It is great we have guys like this at the club, which I really feel like we have been missing. We are getting more and more of them, I believe Stokes, Harley and Chappy are like that, putting the club before anything and playing each game like it is their last.

We are doing well because of this, being positive in the team environment, producing for each other, not just themselves and their own stats.

Last year I cannot remember anyone doing a shepherd, now I see it every game. There is just so much more one percent'ers being done this year. Very inspiring for everyone in the team.

It is very inspiring for us as spectators also.

Most of the team were out at Lambys after the game on sunday including Rooke. I couldnt help but tell him to grow the moustache back.. he looked at me like i was a tool haha. Then i ran away back to my beer in embarrasment.

If i wasnt so drunk i wouldnt have said anything to any of them. In the end i told egan he played a great game and stokes that one of my friends was in love with him...which is true.

I should stop drinking so much.
