Hi Collingwood,

Today I went on down to the MCC, to buy two visitors tickets for 2 Pies fans to take to the ANZAC Day game.
When I got there, there were signs around saying "Reserved seats sold out" so now we have to take our chance and get a seat.

The doors open at 10:30 AM, and my question to you guys, and more so MCC members, whats the best plan to get into the G'?

I was thinking line up at 9, or am I thinking too early, or leaving it too late?

Anyone who has been, or will be in the situation, your advice is gold.

Cheers guys,
Tigerlandfiftyfive.

You'll be fine at 9am, or even 10am. Even if the line looks huge, there are 10000-15000 seats.
That's true, but they would get a sell out, and I wont really wanna be at the back.

Unless you are going to be at the front of the queue (9ish), don't bother. Turn up about 20 minutes after the gate opens. The queue should all be inside by then. You'll only be maybe a couple of hundred seats worse than the guys who queued for an hour or two.

Cheers Baron!

Have you done it before?

It's the MCC members, it doesn't sell out, EVER.:p:o
Hahahaha, I just don't want to be at the top where the players look like little striped ants :p

Hi guys,

Just have a question in regards to tickets. Are there any seats/tickets still available in the MCC members? A friend of mine is trying to get two tickets...

I think so. Sorry I know that that probably doesn't help in answering the question. All I know is that she said she's on a waiting list...?

Sorry Spam, I'm not sure what you mean either.
But yeah, I'm sure visitor pass' for MCC Memebers are sold out for ANZAC Day.

There are 110K MCC members, plus a waiting list of 220K, for roughly 20K seats at the G. It is sold out every week. ;)

No different to a Pies legends member not going due to other commitments, or a person who buys a reserved seat in advance but then doesn't bother rocking up on the night.

Re the question, it depends what you want....if you want the best seats in the entire ground....ie lev 2 or 3 on the wing, get there early.

If you happy to get a seat half way back on top or bottom deck, rocking up when gates open is about right.

If I want the best seats, your reccomendation to get there?

I can't help you with that one. She could be a restricted member I guess, but if she said she's on the waiting list she's probably not an MCC member (the waiting list last time I heard was 21 years long).

I'm a restricted member, and I'm 17 and got it last year.
I was put on at birth though, so I think it must be 16 now - could be 21 for a full membership.

As early as you can, if in a group and want to sit on lev 2 or 3 the entire group needs to get to the ground before the gates open, they wont let you save seats there.

The scarf on a seat is a time honored traditon, someone just needs to stay and guard them
Haha yeah. It's a old system, but it works. Don't change what works... *cough, cough* AFL Rules board...

But yeah, my plan was, get there at 9, get in, put shit on the seats and pass out to go back in with them... but I don't want to line up twice, so I might make them come at 9.

If your mates aren't with you when you first go in to get seats, you won't be able to get them, trust me.

This doesn't work for levels 2 & 3, for the big games you cant even get 1 extra seat.....

Can head up to level 4 and put a scarf down, but will not let you do that for the best seats.

Ahhh, thanks for the heads up.
Levels 2 & 3 will probably be reserved anyway haha, but we'll try.
