Roast MCG Match Day experience

The Barrckers End last night was a Joke. More Empty Seats then people there
Mum and I have noticed that it is very difficult to book tickets there. Everytime we go to upgrade our general admin memberships, the Ponsford is listed as sold out, but when we go there there are always empty seats, and if there is general admission over there it would is always on Level 4 regardless of empty seats.

I presume it's got to do with reserved seat membership, but if that's the case and they want to make it the "active supporter end" then I think they should have a cut off date for members with reserved seats to confirm their attendance (maybe the Wednesday prior), at which time they send an email out to members letting them know of availability to upgrade their membership to a Ponsford stand ticket or if they have already upgraded to switch their seat to a Ponsford Stand seat. Any seats not taken by the day before the match become general seating with the only requirement being that your are a Pies fan prepared to cheer loudly. If this is going to be an "active supporter end" then there needs to be supporters actually in the stand to be active.

I have the same problem with seats through the ticket agencies.
You get to the game and there are plenty of empty seats on the lower levels yet when you go to buy, they only offer top deck.

I really loved the film montage played on the scoreboard of great Collingwood moments with the Side by Side mantra at the end. Really awesome production. Have been trying to find it on YouTube and the CFC site. I want to use it as a tool for indoctrination. The Club seems to do this stuff really well. If anyone can find a link to this Id be grateful.

I think I found myself in the picture taken of the Ponsford End ten minutes before the match commenced by Mattys123 even if it's blurry to see specific people obviously!

Anyway I thought the match-day experience was ordinary overall. The cheersquad seemed noticeably louder and Joffa's flag saying 'We Hear Your Fear' was great but I hope the CS incorporates more bigger flags soon. The so-called 'active area' seemed non-existent last night to be honest so that was disappointing to see.

The fireworks were just embarrassing to say the least. Even the players looked surprised by them and it was funny seeing Travis Varcoe bump into Jamie Elliott because they were so focused on them for a small moment when they were running out to the field. The LED advertising wasn't as noticeable at the MCG thankfully or maybe I'm getting used to it now.

The Collingwood chant really needs to stop being manufactured. It's being overused and destroyed gradually. I think we need to leave the chant to pivotal moments such as big momentum lifters in a particular match or in a big finals match. I think chanting at the start is cringeworthy and it falls completely flat.

Overall some things worked and others may need further re-evaluation such as the fireworks which was ridiculous to witness.

I don’t mind the Countdown Show pre-game but the Rest was boring and Terrible.

The Matt Preston starting the Chant was Simply Embarrassing

Your Thoughts?

I was at the bar...

My seat was empty because I was at the bar for most of the game.

i liked the fireworks when we were running out. Although Paul Seedsman nearly got charred. Almost ran straight into them!
Fireworks were supposed to go for twice as long, The Seed stared them down after they got too close.
