Breast cancer is very,very nasty.
Has killed three family friends of mine in the last few years.
Hope she can be one the few people that can beat it.
Although from my experience, it will eventually get you in the end. Such a b*tch of a thing.

You'd have to think its related to the cancer - but you'd hope not. Its not uncommon for breast cancer to reappear according to my wife.

Contrary to the cr@p that is being posted, reports this morning are that her illness is NOT the breast cancer returning, but is related. Also says that it is treatable and that McGrath expects to re-join the tour, at this stage.
Let's hope she's gunna be OK. If she's in for some kind of long term battle, I'd be backing her for sure.

McGrath has sent his kit on with the team but all indications are he will miss at least the first 2 tests. Unfortunately we will not know until later what the situation is regarding him joining the team, if only for the last two teests and skipping the ODIs at the end.
Hopefully this is something easily treatable with a quick recover period.

Doesn't life suck sometimes. From what everyone who knows those two says you couldn't find nicer people. Go Jane we know you can beat whatever you have and we are thinking and praying for you.

Aussies will be ok as Brett has already stepped up and Bichel will be able to support. If we get Lara out then we have no worries!

Fast bowler Glenn McGrath has rushed back from Australia's tour of the West Indies after receiving medical advice from home about the health of his wife, Jane.
McGrath, 33, left London last night while the rest of the Australian team flew on to Guyana.
McGrath's manager, Warren Craig, last night said Jane's illness was not a recurrence of the breast cancer that caused her to have a mastectomy in September 1997.
"It's a serious condition but it's something from what I (understand) from my brief conversation with Glenn (that) can be treated," Craig said. "He's coming home to make sure everything's OK and everything's done right.
"Like any husband who is overseas when their wife gets diagnosed with something, you come home and sort it out and go from there."

Jane endured six months of chemotherapy after the 1997 operation and was cleared of cancer in June '98. She and Glenn have since set up a foundation that raises funds for the St George Cancer Clinic in Sydney, where Jane was treated.
Craig said that despite the news that his wife had another serious illness, McGrath had been in a positive mood when he spoke to him from London.
"Certainly when I spoke to him he seemed positive and reasonably upbeat, so while it's a serious and concerning matter I don't (think) it's as bad as what I've heard so far on media reports."
Some media reports yesterday had wrongly suggested Jane's breast cancer had recurred.
The Australian Cricket Board last night said no decision would be made about a possible replacement for McGrath until more was known about his wife's condition.
Craig did not rule out the possibility that the NSW paceman would return to the Caribbean, but it seems almost certain that he will miss the first Test, which starts next Thursday at the Bourda ground in Georgetown.
"He has sent his cricket gear on to the West Indies so he is confident of joining the team at some stage," said Craig.
The loss of McGrath, who has taken 422 wickets from 91 Tests, means captain Steve Waugh will try to improve upon the 2-2 result of 1999 without the most successful bowlers in Australian Test history. Leg spinner Shane Warne, Australia's greatest Test wicket-taker, is serving a one-year ban for a drug infringement.
A four-day match against a president's XI in Georgetown, which starts on Saturday, will be used by McGrath's regular new-ball partner, Jason Gillespie, to prove his fitness for the first Test after he was sent home midway through the World Cup with a heel injury. McGrath's absence opens the door for Queensland paceman Ashley Noffke to gain his first Test cap with a strong performance for Australia in the tour match.
Either way, it is almost certain that Andy Bichel will come into the Test XI to join the form fast bowler of the World Cup, NSW speedster Brett Lee.
McGrath, from the NSW country town of Narromine, met English-born Jane in 1995 in Hong Kong when she was a flight attendant for Virgin Atlantic and he was playing in a six-a-side competition.
He will rejoin Jane at home in Sydney with their infant son, James, and 18-month-old daughter, Holly.

Following advice released yesterday by the ACB that Australian fast bowler Glenn
McGrath is returning home from the Travelex Tour of the West Indies to be with
his wife Jane, the McGrath family released the following information.
Jane McGrath has been diagnosed with a secondary cancer infection in her hip.
All indications are that with treatment, she will have a full recovery.
The McGraths have asked that the private nature of this matter be respected.
Australian paceman Brad Williams has been drafted into the Australian squad to
replace Glenn McGrath.
Williams, currently on duty in Brisbane with Australia A, departs Brisbane
tonight and will link up with the Australian squad in Georgetown, Guyana, on
Sunday 6 April.
Chairman of the National Selection Panel, Mr Trevor Hohns, said the uncertainty
of the situation meant the selectors had to make a decision on a replacement
player.
“It is an unfortunate situation confronting the McGrath family and it was
important that Glenn return home to be with his wife, Jane,” said Mr Hohns.
“We will talk with Glenn over the weekend to ascertain his position and see how
everything is progressing.
“While we expect he will be able to return to the West Indies, we needed to make
an urgent decision about a replacement player after consulting with team
management.
“With Damien Martyn joining the squad later in the tour and Jason Gillespie’s
recent recovery from a heel problem, we felt it was necessary to call in another
player to boost the bowling stocks.
“Brad has bowled consistently during the summer and has been in contention for
some time, so we expect him to slot in nicely with the balance of the team and
make a strong impact with his pace and accuracy.”
Twenty-eight year-old Tasmanian Tigers paceman Damien Wright has been named to
replace Williams in the Australia A side.
Australia A play six limited-over and two three-day matches against South Africa
