Can play, but don't want to pay the price WCE would ask for McKinley.

Pick 24 needs to be used on a midfielder or a tall.

You took Kennedy who we rejected for Kreuzer...

No, you rejected him for Judd. We wanted picks, but obviously you were in a position to demand that you kept pick 1. That doesn't really have much to do with Kreuzer.

Why not? You finished one win ahead of the wooden spooners, need all the help you can get.

And obtaining spuds like Fisher will ensure we finish one rung lower next year

Yeah, just having fun at the expense of West Coast while it lasts :D

I don't think WC will be down for long at all. A bit more zip in the midfield and they will be fine. They actually have some structure in their side. Unlike some other teams who are going to struggle for a number of years. So they wont take a long time to rebuild.

I hope your right but I can't say I am so confident. Our list is extremely young and if we lose Kerr then our mids are going to be so exposed. Agree with your comment about our structure we are developing a potential forward line that will trump all from the last 10 years at West Coast. Kennedy, McKinley, Le Cras, Ebert, Notte and the probable addition of a Walters, Yarren, Garllet means we will have something our midfield will be able to kick to.

Talented. Add Mitch Brown to that?

Why? Average players at better teams than yours will have an impact at a lower club and be stars there ;)

Right, you mean like this?

2003
David Clarke
Daniel Harford
Brett Johnson
Cory McGrath
Digby Morell
David Teague
Ricky Mott
Glenn Bowyer
Jordan Bannister

2004
Callum Chambers
Troy Longmuir

2005
Jason Saddington

2006
Dylan McLaren

2007
Cain Ackland

Remind us all how those Average players at better clubs had such a positive impact on your team? ;)

Carlton's record in this area should be enough of a warning to the Eagles not to go anywhere near Fisher!

Re-signed yesterday for another 2 years despite the fact Collingwood were offering him more money. Good man :thumbsu:

We got you to go back and put more money in the deal, so I dare say our work has been done. It's not as though we actually need forwards anyway, so I can't quite work out why we were chasing him.

Anyway, good to see him stick with the Eagles rather than join the Blues.

WEST Coast has beaten off serious interest from three Victorian clubs to retain forward Ben McKinley for another two years. McKinley has agreed to a two-year deal to stay in Perth after his management fielded offers from Essendon, Carlton and Collingwood, who tried to entice the 21-year-old home to Melbourne.

West Coast chief executive Trevor Nisbett yesterday confirmed that McKinley had agreed to terms, after initially rejecting the Eagles' first offer.

I think we managed to resist that age old trick. He is staying with us on quite abit less money than you offered despite the fact we have a massive gap in our salary cap. The club stuck to its guns and offered him what he was worth which is why the negotiations took so long.

well sort of...we agreed to pay him more money when he asked for it...

It's by the by anyway..

I really think he should be our permanent third tall. Very impressed with his efforts around the ground since coming back into the team. His kicking for goals has improved again. Gives us something different. Knows how to position himself, smart medium size forward we need.

Hope he resigns. Melbourne teams would be salivating for him
I predict that he will have a breakout year next year. Looks like he will be like Brad Green. Green also inconsistent through his career but at his best was very good.

Perfect foil for LeCras and Kennedy, can bob up and kick 3 in a quarter when the opposition coach thinks he has to focus on the other two. Because he has worked on his defensive game the opp coach cant just put an attacking forward on him anymore either. He has also shown that he can play small and kick crumming goals as well as playing tall, kicked 3 crumming goals the other week.

Is starting to get up the ground more as well and help out the midfield, have seen him down in defense on more then one occasion helping out.

There were allot of Eagles supporters who didnt see a future for him.

Exactly. Geelong tried to expose him by playing Mackie on him, didnt work as McKinley kicked 3 and Mackie had little impact on the game - which was great as he's been in ripper form this year.
