Well, we'll have to see how we can play sans Bunji against the Power this weekend. Haven't heard about Biglands yet. However, if he gets rubbed out too I can't see how we can counter the Power, although losing Primus would even up things a bit. I'm wondering if the AFC will appeal the decision. What do you think ?

Bad luck about Macca - and the people that put a wager on him for the Brownlow.
Rhett got off though; I suppose thats something.

He played well last Showdown and I reckon came out on top of Primus in the end - He has matured a lot as a ruckman since too so Im thankful for "big"mercys.

Binks is out for two weeks with a damaged cheekbone -Thats the other sad news.

We have to beat the scum. Kinglsey the clockhead, reckons we are favourites on the news tonight. Hes obviously been next to ChokeO

There's no way we're favourites now...I'm starting to like the scenario for Saturday night :) We covered Roo and while Macca leaves a large hole to fill in the lineup, it'll give someone else a chance (we might bring in Gags) and it could make a win all the more meritorious. This could also freshen up Macca a bit....I pity the Tigers in a couple of weeks...he's going to be ready and raring to go! :)

Why have the Crows decided not to appeal? I have lost faith in the tribunal & the rules committee - they have lost the plot as to their purpose. They should be giving games for unsavoury incidents where the player is injured or forced off the field. How can a fair ball player like McLeod get games for what was a reckless incident which caused little harm to Lloyd (but clearly warranted a free kick), yet Phil Matera get off for using his elbow & Plugger nearly kills Shane Wakelin. What was McLeod meant to do - just happily sit back & watch Lloyd take the mark uncontested? Sure players need to be protected, but this is a contact sport where collisions will occur. It is the acts of endangerment (eg. striking) where the tribunal have a role to play. Not Happy!!! :( :( :( :( :(

Changes V Power

Well there are going to be at least 2 changes with Bunji & Beinks out. I believe we need 2 run-with players to tackle Nick Stevens & particularly Francou. Stenglein should play on one of them, which would mean either Nelson or Shirley should come in to the side. If Gags is decent form, he should come in to the side as well. Also, I would like to see Hewitt come in, possibly for Schell. He has been in decent form for Norwood & could do the job on Tredrea, which woud allow us to send Perrie forward.

This is pure gold. Hewitt could do the job on Tredrea......next you'll be telling us that the Easter Bunny is real.:p

Santos - Name me one game last year when Hewitt played @ CHB when he didn't at least break even? You may like to bag him as a player, but IMO he did little wrong in defence last year & is a better developed at this stage to play AFL than Schell. Any way do you really think Tredrea is going to kick straight 2 weeks in a row? I seriously doubt it! :p

LMAO!!

BTW I hope that the crows do appeal the McLeod decision, i hope he plays because Poults will absolutely do a number on him anyway!

Still LMAO!

If Hewitt is that good, how come he can't get a game? BTW when i've seen him at SANFL he looks pretty average IMO. If he plays (never mind plays on Tredrea) you guys are in trouble!

If Tredders kicked straight this week he would of kicked 10, not 6!

Hewitt has had an interupted pre-season due to the ankle not healing properly from surgery. Ego - Are you trying to suggest that Schell is a better player than Hewitt? Based on what exactly? Still yet to name a game where Hewitt was cleaned up @ CHB. When the Crows were playing their best footy last year, Hewitt was holding down CHB & Perrie was playing forward with Stevens. Along with Fitzy this year, that would give us a decent looking forward line. Pretty rough getting stuck into Hewitt, when it is so obvious Mead is past it. Just because you lost the 1st game you panicked & brought him back. I so hope he plays on Stevo this week, as then he will be one 1 more step closer to retirement.

He did kick 5 straight to end the game which amazed me...everytime he takes a mark he should just run onto his left and let fly....

Poults doing a number on Macca? Now that is humour. LOL :)

Depends on how you look at it really. Biglands probably beat Primus in the ruck but Primus's move to full forward was the turning point in the game....3 goals and port kicked something like 12 out of 13 goals and the rest is history.

Its hardly surprising the Crows are favourites. Theyve probably had the better form out of the two sides. I think the crows match up well against Port and are definatly a good chance of winning. Mcleod....he is only one player...you lose one player and someone else will come out to play and be just as damaging. If you lose its doubtful that Mcleod would make a significant difference anyway...you have plenty of other midfielders that have been in better form this year.

Just on Mcleod....what a bloody thug...he shoulda got life the scum!

;)

He kicked straight 14 times last year and had even number of goals/behinds, 4 other times.
I reckon he'll kick straight this week

NO, he was dropped because of match ups. He has been in our best players the last two weeks...which happened to be 2 big wins. I think that is a sign! When Mead plays well, so does Port. So Mead might well be past it...but hes still a damn site better player than Hewitt is.

Hewitts form so far does not require a call up. Hes kicked 3.7 for Norwood and hasnt been named in the best players yet. Why would he be recalled when his form does not warrant it?

Never said Schell was better. Did say that Hewitt is pretty rat-sh*t though & still stand by that.
As for games when Hewitt was beaten an opponent, why don't you tell me? Go though them game by game if you wish, it doesn't really interest me that much. My opinion on him is he ain't very good and if he plays on Tredders, man that'll be great!

As for Mead, still think he is by far the best CHB in this state. He may be past his best but still offers something which i am happy that we have got.

Last thing I want to do is agree with the Port supporters but there is no way we are going to play Hewitt on Tredrea, we've got half a dozen better choices than him.

If he plays like normal we don't need to put anybody on him

He will miss goals from 10 metres out straight in front - worst set shot for goal in AFL footy (well maybe apart from Rhett Biglands).

Too true, and was actually what I was inferring.

I nominate this for the stupidest post ever on Bigfooty - yes you outwit Dan, the Butcher, Fat Alfred, the Peanut Gallery

Poulton struggles at SANFL level in pressure games (last years finals anyone?)

Take out Mcleod - you truly are a peanut

When will you learn? Maybe your going for 'three times a charm' when it comes to bagging Tredrea? You've probably guaranteed a 15 mark 4 goal game by the champ.

No question Mead has the runs on the board over Hewitt

This is typical Crow fan talk of hoping a player will be much better than he is

If he can't dominate in the SANFL he can be no more than a below average AFL player

The Ins should be James Gallagher and Ben Nelson

As for who is favourite - If Primus plays - Definitley Port

If not - its 50/50.

As bizarre as it may sound, I'd rather Bunji get one week than Biglands.

We can cover Bunji more by shuffling the midfield Johnson, Goodwin, Edwards than we can by calling up a big man to cover Rhett. Clarkey's fine on the bench, but if he's rucking, who do we call up?
