i reckon theres some truth to it. it was well known that morton wanted out no matter what. imo we payed way more than we needed to for morton.

as for pick 19 i had targeted both pears and collier at 18 and 19. when rance slipped i wanted rance and pears. there were a fair few of my crowd who liked ward. i saw a bit of rance and am inclined to thinlk i got that one wrong.

and to the selwood knockers we will see i reckon he will make a few eat their words.

finally how does gourdis come into it he was a speculative psd pick who we would have taken in the psd regardless of what went before. he would have lasted to rookie stage his kicking was so poor.

The sad part is he's now being labelled by Hunchy as the best list manager in the business:confused:

To be fair, he says Wallace is the best 'list analyst' in the business. And nothing that I've heard Wallace say about a clubs list I've scoffed at. He's been pretty spot on and realistic about players draft stocks, and about the value of certain picks. I actually don't mind Wallace as a media guy.

Morton had agreed to come to us in the PSD, but the Eagles/Dogs played us like a violin. We traded a ND pick for Morton, and used the PSD pick we would have used on him, for Gourdis.

I heard this conversation at the time, and things seemed pretty legit when I first heard it. The impression that I got was that other clubs knew we were all over the place and that Miller and Wallace weren't on the same page. I just can't believe we'd pull the trigger on a trade without confirming it from all parties concerned on our end.

ah i see gourdis became the morton psd pick. confirms what i knew that morton was going regardless and we paid overs.

didnt in some convoluted way our pick 35 and the eagles pick 30 end up at the dogs for the dogs pick 22.
i know the cousins situation affected wce ability to utilise picks as they were so close to tpp having to still include cuzs salary even though he was deregistered.

we would have been better off forgetting about mcmahon and the bloody wb, offered pick 19 for 30 and 35 and taken morton in the psd. your right we got screwed.this was nothing unusual under miller though.
