Reprimand. Can't get the brownlow. Shame.
I thought that you had to miss weeks to be deemed ineligible for the Brownlow.![]()

Sorry but McVeigh will not even go close. I know for a fact that several umpires rate him as the most difficult player to umpire in the league and that they will refuse to vote for him. Our B&F is more realistic.
If you don't protect sources you don't get the info in the first place. I can tell you the source is a senior AFL umpire who umpired on the weekend (not Ess v. Carlton). You can accept it as a fact or not ...I couldn't care less !
McVeigh was fantastic for you lot on Saturday night. 3 votes is likely.
He won't win the Brownlow because a) he's not *that* good, b) Essendon won't win enough games, and c) he's an aggressive, punchy hothead.
And before you throw me out or jump all over me, I doubt any Bombers fan being objective would think he'll win the Brownlow either.
Reprimand means he's still eligible, though. It's only a suspension which rules you out.
That would be enough to incur a yellow card on Carltons board.lol
I know it.
Is there anywhere on here to talk about footy without it descending into name-calling and stupidity?
I want to talk about all teams, not just my own. McVeigh is a good player. I don't see him ever winning a Brownlow. I don't vote on the Brownlow, so I don't KNOW... but I don't think he will. I should be able to say that.![]()

Mark McVeigh, Essendon, has been charged with a Level One striking offence against Brendan Fevola, Carlton, during the fourth quarter of the Round Three match between Essendon and Carlton, played at the MCG on Saturday April 5, 2008.If the original charge was less than 100 points he'll be eligible for the Brownlow. For example Adam Goodes was charges last week for a offence deemed at 80 points (original base)- he would have missed a week if guilty but the original charge was less than 100 points so he would have been still eligible for the Brownlow. McVeigh I would have no idea what the original points value of his charge was, but if it was more than 100 he is not eligible!

In summary, he can accept a reprimand and 74.38 points towards his future record with an early plea.
The incident was assessed as negligent conduct (one point), low impact (one point) and high contact (two points). This is a total of four activation points, resulting in a classification of a Level One offence, drawing 80 demerit points and a reprimand. He has a total of two matches suspended within the last three years, increasing the penalty by 20 per cent to 96 demerit points. He also has 3.17 points carried over from within the last 12 months, increasing the penalty to 99.17 demerit points. An early plea reduces the sanction by 25 per cent to 74.38 points and a reprimand.
Lucky, only 99.17 points meaning he is still eligible.
I like the idea of a points systemSee there we go fellas, sorted it out. I actually like the points system. I still don't think he'll win it though. My money is on Selwood or Gary Ablett, Adam Goodes my 3rd pick as he always polls well! Look at how well he polled last year- it was blind ridiculous!![]()
Paying $81 for the win and $21 for a place at TAB.How much is he paying for a top 5 finish or win ?
