Anyone know where the best Second Hand music stores are in Melbourne, I am looking more for second hand vinyl, dance, funk and rock?

Missing Link has a decent selection of second hand stuff and a reasonable selection of vinyl... they are on Bourke St in between Queen and Elizabeth. I doubt they'll have any dance but they probably have funk and will have rock.

I have not shopped there myself but I have been recommended to Batman Records in the past. I think they are on Little Bourke or Little Lonsdale not far from Swanston St. Batman Records I think is more older stuff but may have a few records of interest.

Try Collector's Corner on 240 Swanston Street in the city. I haven't been there in ages, but they used to have a huge 2nd hand range (even though the staff are, or were, gits). Greville Records on Greville Street in Prahran is also worth a look for 2nd hand rock.

You could also try Dixon's Recycled. They have several shops in town and in the suburbs. You do find the odd gem amongst the Top 40 stuff for sale.

CRAM in Camberwell & Melbourne Music Exchange in Richmond are another couple worth checking out.

If you want funk checkout Northside Records at 236 Gertrude Street Fitzroy.

there is this place at the top end of acland street, a few doors down from where the porno shop is, upstairs. It got heaps of rare records and stuff but it is very expensive.

As others have mentioned, Dixon's Recycled Records would be the best bet:

http://www.dixons.com.au/

Fitzroy: 414 Brunswick St (03) 9416 2272
Prahran: 308 Chapel St (03) 9530 2000
Camberwell: 736 Burke Rd (03) 9882 3345
Dandenong: 156 Walker St (03) 9794 6899
Blackburn: 66 Railway Rd (03) 9894 1844

The Prahan store would have the best range of 80's, 90's & 2000's second hand 12" singles as well as LP's.

There's a little store in Hawthorn [Alley Tunes], just in that little alley at Glenferrie Station, i used to go there quite often, they have a pretty good range of latest 12" vinyl as well as older stuff, even have a huge range of cheap second hand 12"ers.

Can confirm that yes they are still staffed with gits. Good prices though.

If you want cheap CD's go to Dirt Cheap CD's located in the city somewhere. And for vinyl I go to Off Ya Tree which is expensive but that only sells Heavy Metal and Punk stuff.:thumbsu:

Collectors Corner and Greville Records are certainly worth a look.
