The reactions in this thread were justified at the time but now they make the posters look like idiots. Not sure why we bump threads like this because everyone always looks an idiot in hindsight.

I don't really need anyone quoting me from bygone times to make me look like an idiot, I can do that quite easily myself!

I love the bumps - they are moments in time. Read from a distance they are quite instructive. We can read where people have over-reacted & where someone has nailed it.

Good post and I concur but there is a short term strategy that we can employ in order to get back on track.

We must move heaven and earth to inject a couple of quality mature midfielders in to our immature midfield playing group.

We then need to start putting balanced football sides out on the park.

lol I remember that week, I wasn't even angry. I was laughing at how bad we played, we got the reputation that if we were put under pressure we would capitulate and our boys started to believe it and it gave hope to the opposition.

I thankfully dodged the bullet of this thread but I was probably in a few others. I still think my criticism in those threads if they are ever bumped would still be validated. I did have some Brad concerns because we were looking like we were following the same patterns of 2010 and 2011.

I don't think we should really be humiliating posters for making terrible calls, and there were some doozies in this thread. It still bothers me that we can play to the standard we are playing now and we dished up some of the performances we did a few months ago. These dumb losses are why we aren't in 4th spot.

I just wish our skill level was up to par at the start of the season, we seem to start seasons off in a shitful standard and improve as we go through the season. We haven't played to the standard we did towards the end of the previous year. That is going to be the big test for mine, if we start next year and produce a bottom 4 disposal efficiency like we did this year then I will lose the plot.

Come on, enough with the bumps. It's fun on the main board to track them down, but we should leave each other alone. All of us. We've all said dumb stuff and we all know what was said. Won't stop me giving every North supporter I meet a grin, a high five and/or a big hug when things are going well (except for that hideous man of many names on Facebook).

Thats fine H2H but when posters force their opinions down other peoples throats and quickly dismiss others opinions it makes an interesting read. We're all guilty to make the odd bad call or two thats fine but there are people who resent being castrated for offering a thought for the sake of the forum and then gradually fall away never to return. And in that, in a nutshell goes against what this forum is all about.
I went back to go through and read anyones thoughts when we were the laughing stock of the AFL and I think people have forgotten this and has been swept under the carpet in the euphoria of our recent form.
Theres no nastiness on my behalf in bumping this thread but only wish to highlight them to those who are alittle unsure about themselves when posting their thoughts on the team we all love. There has been a huge amount of new faces/avatars in recent times ( Im not sure if theyre old faces that have been forced to take new names) but there is few extra out there now.

There are no sacred cows where the health and well being of the NMFC is concerned.

My colors are tattooed on my soul, so the guardians of those colors need to provide something more than lip service when those colors are under attack.

All chipperness would be as tiresome and dull and the predictable negativity of Facebook. I enjoy posters being ballsy enough to risk being wrong as long as they aren't lemmings.

And yes, it's an interesting time capsule, the way the thread on the day of the Carey Unpleasantness is, or the threads from Roosistence times. I just don't much like any "nyerr nyerr" when one side turns out to be right, not out of superior foresight or judgement so much as luck.

I was watching a recording of the game last night after having avoided the score, it got to 3/4 time and it was 1am so I thought 'hmmm this is good, I'll watch the rest tomorrow.' Then I checked the result on the internet and basically had a lot of difficulty sleeping. A fair amount you could say.

Actually I had him in mind when I thought Id go back and read what was said 3 months back.......and not to nit pick anyones posts, and I assure everyone here not to see if I called it right........but you got to admit how quickly the tide can turn. Im sitting on the other side of the planet and believe it or not I enjoy everyones posts because I get a better feel and understanding what others think because of the very fact that they are there at the games. They see and post things that are often missed by the cameras. Which I'll never see.
And to me ol' mate Tef ........I really enjoy your posts you're opinionated,passionate,intelligent and yeah you have an amazing ability to rub people the wrong way. Theres no question of your loyalty and you may have royal blue and white stripes tattooed to your soul.
I realise that its just the way you are, wouldnt want you to change nor do I want to use energy to try. You bring colour to this forum. And thats a positive!!!
