Nice total thus far. Anyone know what we had this time last year? Wouldn't of been this much. It'd be absoltuely terrific should we in fact make it to 26,000 members. It'd be a fantastic effort, really hope we can achieve that this year. Now's the time to jump aboard and with the easy payments they've got these days too, you'd be literally brain dead not to take advantage!

If you haven't done so already; buy a membership!

Go Dogs!

Nice research aqua. Things are looking good right now. A strong start to the season should see us reach our target.

Thanks Pembleton, it's always good to compare, especially when we are ahead. :)

So what was the final tally last year? If we're 4k up by when memberships close we should be looking pretty sweet.

somewhere around 23,000 from memory, might be wrong though.

It's hard to compare the progressive tally as all the new methods of payments will have changed things a bit. More people will be choosing monthly payments, so their numbers would of probably of been calculated already, where in the past most people would wait until the season starts or the wizz fizz cup, and sign up at the tent on the day. Another example is the early incentives, i for one signed up early this year to take advantage of the early bird scarf offer (which is sweet btw), something i hadn't done before.

I would still expect us to beat last years number though.

I think it needs to be considered that Smorgan indicated that we had 1,500 new members. We might be 3,500 to 4,000 members up on the same time last year but that's because the majority of those people have signed up early. That helps with cash flow etc but at this moment we are probably looking at 25,000 members in total.

I havent re-signed yet, but Im just lazy. Also havent given the money I said I would for the player sponser. Will probably do it today as I have the day off.

1500 new members is pretty good before the ball has even been bounced on the wizzer cup yet. If we can win one or two wizzer cup matches, that should bring a few more new members on-board. Then a good start to the season and we’re away.

And some people think on-field performance isn’t important to financial stability!

1,500 additional members is excellent and a couple of wins in the NAB would be a huge boost.

It is a personal peeve of mine when people tell others to buy memberships but what the hell, I am going to buy a couple of goldies later today.

Great effort by everyone that has purchased there memberships so far.Fantastic to have that many members on board and the new members as well.

Keep reminding members who still havent renewed and others who havent purchased there memberships to purchase them so we can break the 26,000 mark this year

Go Doggies

Your giving North a good flogging in the membership stakes... we are at 10,300... but remember North fans always sign up at Rd 1.

We used to have a similar slow sign up rate before the season started but since the Club started a monthly payment option a lot more people have decided to sign up earlier and take advantage of spreading the payments over a few months. This has worked very well for us.

Good luck with you membership drive.

Tally

?? 14005
30/1/06 14243
6/2/06 14621

Increase of about 400 in the week. Seems like a good result to me.

Yes, it's moving along nicely...we should get close to 15,000 hopefully by this time next week.

Just hit 15,000 according to web!

Cannot ever remember such good numbers so early in the year.

A record is looking good.

Hopefully we can get a few more to sign up durring the intraclub this friday and increase the figure as we head into the first nab cup match against the melbourne.

A couple of NAB Cup wins would be handy, that would be worth at least another 1,000 members.

New memberships are really the key. A couple of NAB cup wins would do wonders for us.

It's great to have so many sign up earlier than in previous years but if we knew that out of the 15,000 members that say 2,000 of them were new ones then it really is an outstanding position.
If however, 14,500 out of the 15,000 actually signed up last year then other than the fact of the positive impact to the cash flow position would we really be that much better off?

From memory we have about 1,200 new members so far which sounds pretty good.

I think 25,000 members is achievable but we might have an outside chance for getting 26,000.

I dont know the full details, but all money for a membership bought at the club stays at the club, so 1200 new people buying a membership $150 (AT LEAST) = $180,000 new dollars for the club. Certainly worth it.

To put that in perspective, 30000 members paying (a more sensible) $200 per membership would be $6,000,000 in the coffers. We have 20000 members usually. People bang on about sponsorship and media exposure, but at the end of the day membership is what it's really about.

Those potential extra 10000 members (conservative amount, obviously), are the difference between a small financial loss (like last year), and a sizable profit (regardless of the Competitive Balance Fund).

Moral of the story? Dont be a tightarse, go buy your membership!

The real moral of the story is that we need to attract new members to the club. Perhaps Griffen signing for a few more seasons might add a few more members for us.
