Re: IN: Hackland, Hadley OUT: Cloke, Ellard

even more reason as to why Hampson should've been given a go.

i would have given ellard another game ahead of wiggins.

those ins from brisbane are really gonna hurt us :(

I forgot he (wiggins) played last week.

Wiggins and Ackland playing together... :( No offense to any supporters of Wiggins or Ackland (although i doubt there are many anyway), but these two are reminders of the fact that we still have a lot of list development to go through.

Hopefully they can play a part in getting us over the line for this week anyway.

Re: IN: Hackland, Hadley OUT: Cloke, Ellard

Were Gubnna Get Smashed

I think the days of getting smashed are behind us, although i reckon Brisbane would have to start favourites for this game. BUT if we play our very best footy I think we'll win.

Brisbane will be a similar sort of challenge to what Adelaide were I think, with a lot of classy, experienced players. And if we never had that lapse against Adelaide after half time we would've beaten them.

Re: IN: Hackland, Hadley OUT: Cloke, Ellard

The game will be won around the clearances. Let's hope our mids can get first touch and we should do alright.

If our mids don't put in 4 quarters we will lose. Each of the games we have won the mids have had lapses in the 2nd half of the match and we will get punished vs Brisbane.

P.S Ackland to play the game of his life....which involves breaking even

No offence, but I see this said a lot and its just not the case. We are very capable of winning the clearances, but that doesn't mean we will win.

The game will be simply won by who capatalises on their chances more. Winning every clearance, to then kick it over Fev's head won't do us any good.

EDIT: Is there room for both Bentick and Hadley in our side? We don't want to be too slow, when our rotating players are guys like Russell, Wiggins, ect.

Have a look at where we get 5-6 goals in a row kicked against us, the blame is directly pointed at the mids / ruck. We already know we have a shit ruck, Geelong were getting pantsed earlier in the season with no Ottens but their mids still manage to do well around the clearances.

Look at the last 5 mins 3rd Qtr of the melb match and first 15mins of the 4th Qtr. We do that vs Brisbane and we will lose by 10 goals

There is room for both Bentick and Hadley easily this week. Brisbane has a fairly slow midfield but their senior midfielder's are very polished

Re: IN: Hackland, Hadley OUT: Cloke, Ellard

why won't black make a difference?

I meant the difference between winning and losing, not doubting he can have a major influence on the game.

Anyway I was just offering up a suggestion as to who may come out for luenberrger.

Ok fair enough.

I wasn't having a dig i was just curious as we regard him as one of the most influential on our list.

Hope he plays

Re: IN: Hackland, Hadley OUT: Cloke, Ellard

I went to the Bullants game against Casey Scorpions last week, and in a game where we were thrashed by 118 pts, ACKLAND was probably our best player over the 4 quarters. He held his own in the ruck dept & did well around the ground. HAMPSON, on the other hand, played well in patches, and probably needs a bit more time in the Bullants. Joe ANDERSON was a bit unlucky to not get a game, but he has just come back from injury, and needs game time to regain match fitness.

Re: IN: Hackland, Hadley OUT: Cloke, Ellard

The rationale for including Ackland is pretty clear. Ratten obviously thought Hampson and Kruezer aren't physically ready to share the ruck duties at this level, despite being the most talented long term option. My major criticism of Ackland isn't his centre bounce work, but his attitude and poor concentration. Last year he frequently gave away silly free kicks at crucial times and set a poor example with his lack of focus. Hopefully he'll improve, otherwise it could be his farewell game before being shipped off to the Pies. :)

Don't question Hackland's inclusion, i question leaving Hampson out. O'hAlpain is not up to AFL IMO, play Kruezer in that role, up forward and play Hampson as the second ruckman.

Re: Ackland...give him one more chance.

I think the club needs to pump him full of; Human growth hormones, Bulgarian Horse Tranquilliser, Ketamine, Ice, Industrial strength sniffing glue, Rohypnol, any and every Anabolic-steroids they can get there hands on, hash, liquore filled chocolates, marasco cherries, red-cordial, St Mumma's Wort, plus all the shit that Heath Ledge had in his body and basically make him stand in front of Brown and Bradshaw as cannon fodder. Ackland is probably the last athlete on earth that would ever be tested for performance enhancing drugs.

Funny. Off with you. :D:thumbsu:

Don't forget that Houlihan, Thornton, Bannister(stick with me on this) and Walker are missing from our best 22. ;)

Great to see Cain get one more chance.

His selection will give the Russell bashers the week off if Ackland has a shocker or an average game. :)

Re: IN: Hackland, Hadley OUT: Cloke, Ellard

we are starting to look s**t again with wiggins, hackland and bentick in the side. Bentick in particular is lucky to keep his place

Don't count on it. There's always reason to bash your favourite player.:p

Dear Carlton Board Moderators

I, as a fan of the Carlton Football Club, am sick to death of reading names of Carlton players, with incorrect spelling, or names changes as a form of abuse. I understand, some incorrect spelling may just be a typo, and is innocent, but I was wondering if it's at all possible, to ban the next person who puts the H in front of Cain Ackland's name.

Kindest regards,
Djibril Cisse
