That's silly, Marns (IMO). Jeff and Williams aside, how is that comment justified? ...

The Kennett and Williams incidents are pretty significant, we can't just say 'besides that, what has been done?' It's like saying "besides the brownlows, what has robert harvey done?"
Maybe I'm reading it wrong, but if you get a consensus amongst footy fans, I'd be pretty confident that the majority would get the same feeling as me.

Any respectable club President would have answered that question either diplomatically or not at all. If you are blaming journos for the questions they ask instead of Kennett for the apsersions he cast on our club then you are in trouble. Even if Kennett genuinely felt that way (which I might add would be from the perspective of what Hawthorn would have to gain out of it all) the guy needs to remember what his position exactly entales as a club president. He was out of line.

None of what he said was slanderous and therefore no aspersions.
He said nothing insulting or with any lack of respect.
As far as I understand it, in our democratic society, people are able to freely voice their opinions. You and I are on this forum. Maybe you'd like to point out the specific sentence or part of his statements that you find insulting or objectionable?

You can use any term you like, I wouldn't use the term "slanderous" myself but he has a duty of care and his comments were made out of a conflict of interest. Quite simply what he said in the public eye was inappropriate given he is a President of an AFL club. AD pretty much voiced that it was talking out of term.

You and I are indeed on this forum and apart from the general rules and code of conduct that are stipulated by the creators of this site we are not bound to any such code of conduct that an AFL president should be. You and I can both type any old crap and opinions and if the mods approve of it they can let it stay otherwise they will act appropriately. As footy supporters we can also argue 'till we are blue in the face whether Kennett was being disrespectful or not. I say he was both disrespectful and displayed arrogant opportunism - you obviously disagree. Either way what Kennett did was wrong. When he stated (in his opinion) that we should relocate he crossed the line.

As for Jeff's comments, I think he is simply opening a discusion. I would love to see every Victorian based club survive in something close to their current format but the reality is that Melbourne need to seriously roll up their sleeves and do something now before it is too late. I am not sure that Jimmy Stynes is the right man for the job but for the sake of football, Melbourne needs to do something....and quick.
