Great call. Beaten, but not by much against a very good opponentGee I love Apeness. Please don't get injured again!! I don't think he won v Jacobs, but some of his tapwork was beautiful, straight down the throat of his mids
Will be interesting how he goes with Sandilands in the team.I've been very encouraged by Michael's efforts over the last couple of games. Given the time he's had away from the game, I think he's done bloody well.. if he can start clunking a few up front it will do wonders for his confidence, much like Cox.

The main thing he can do when Sandilands is back is what Jones did; take some attention off Cox.Will be interesting how he goes with Sandilands in the team.
For a guy who has horrible luck I hope he does well.
Ross mentioned in an interview last week or the week before that Apeness was never drafted to be a permanent forward, he was always to be Ruck/Fwd.Well he is definitely not a forward which i think Ross has finally worked out. Sounds like Apeness was telling him that for the past 4 years.
He has one thing that could make him a very handy ruck/forward and that is his ability to take a great contested mark. Yes he is not as mobile or as quick as a Rory Lobb but i think he has the ability to hit the scoreboard a lot more than some ruck/forwards going around in the league. On top of that he hits a marking contest very very hard and he will have a lot of players looking over their shoulder when dropping in front of a leading Apeness.Ross mentioned in an interview last week or the week before that Apeness was never drafted to be a permanent forward, he was always to be Ruck/Fwd.

Is that not reasonable and probably a result of his reduced mobility due to injury?he has changed his tune. In the past he was a FWD who could pinch hit in the ruck.

Considering we have those two plus 4 other rucks on our list I would think that our stratergy is definitely along those lines. Is our strategy to have a -
fwd/ruck - apeness
ruck/fwd - darcy
but have both simply rotate? or is that too much titanic in one team?
Apeness was good at times , Dropped a soda mark 20 mrs out directly in front , But other than that blemish was a pretty solid effort
It was in his arms , Anyway other than that pretty goodThink the guy in front of him got a touch on the ball and deflected it.
In this draft year, Apeness played for Eastern as a ruck who went forward because Tom Boyd was the main power forward.sorry i didn't know Ross did the draft prospects

At the time, the club recruited as a forward/ruck.
Last weeks he has been playing more ruck than forward. It will be interesting how he goes in the role he was recruited for.
