Yep that's literally what I said.

Surely 'someone good' is a given and doesn't need to be specified.

Unless you think I would be happy with Kane Mitchell.

Picking up a bargain basement delistee for nothing is not what I'd consider to be an alternative option to Gibbs.
IIRC you did say "any midfielder"

No the recruitment of Barlow would fulfill everything that you ranted on about after losing Gibbs ......that's one for the gipper
Yeah sure, trading out our first rounder for a player and picking up a delisted free agent are virtually identical strategies

So you're in favor of getting Barlow? .......why the gripes then ?
He got delisted from the 14th ranked team

He's 28 with one of the worst injuries imaginable behind him

I'm in favour of getting Gibbs or a similar quality player.

I'd rather our youth played than any delisted free agents.

So do you want Barlow or not? ......can i remind you of a very recent "rant" of yours

Did you or did you not say this below
you seem to be glossing over "who would help us next season" despite putting it in bold.

implication is of course that Barlow doesn't help us, which is not a long draw of the bow by any means.

2017 is his to play for he already started and could be better for it. He either good enough to make it or he not.

Why do you think it's that clear cut? Or in other words: what is it about our coaching group that fills you with such confidence that they'll make the right decision. Just last year they made the call that one of our players wasn't 'good enough', and believe it or not, he played two thirds of that season! That isn't all that inspiring.

Kane Cornes tweet highlights my worst fear. That they see Barlow as a Lyons replacement rather than a Thommo one. Which means Knight gets to spend the year in the SANFL again while we trot out Thompson, Barlow and Matt Crouch in the midfield and then wonder why teams can run rings around us and we continually turn the ball over by foot.

But you said this !!.....stop trying to change positions all the time ....or maybe think about what your position is a bit more

Drugs Are Bad Mackay? said:
Fine - Gibbs is not the only player in the league. Decide Gibbs would cost too much then get Rockliff. Don't want Rockliff then target someone else. Any other midfielder in the entire competition who would help us next season. Whatever you do - don't get no one. That is the one absolute result at the bottom of the entire list of possibilities that is the worst possible outcome for the AFC at this stage - falling just outside the top four with a core group of players in their prime. Needed to be avoided at absolutely all costs. Instead it seems to have been embraced.

What do you think I was saying?

Get anyone, regardless of quality

OR

Get someone good who will help us next season

Yeah ok. I meant let's pick up someone from the Div 7 reserves because that would make sense.
In other words ....we shouldn't believe what you .....because you don't believe it

BTW ......you said "any AFL midfielder" ......are you expanding your statement to now include Amatuer Divisions? ...just checking

Given Barlow played his best footy last year when tagging I wonder if that will be a change of midfield set up given our lack of A graders.

By using a tagger to shut down an oppositions A grader, that means the opposition has one less A grade midfielder against us, sort of evens up the numbers a bit.

It's the only thing that makes sense.

Campo doesn't believe in tagging.

Why panic over something that hasn't happened?

Why me? .....you're the one who posted the shit

What do you think you were saying ......or is it all a bit of a blur ?

Think you may be taking Drugs' quote a little literally, Wayne
So how are we meant to take a post ? .......If DABM says a player is bad, does that mean that DABM maybe saying he's good ? ......i will get more confused than DABM ;)

Well... it was the latter of the two options.

Honestly don't see how getting Barlow into the 22 is that bad?

Gives us two years of good service extracting the ball from the centre square (at 70% DE), whilst giving much better defensive pressure than Thommo. Will be beneficial without a doubt. Meanwhile, we can wait for our pick 13 midfielder to develop, and he can replace Barlow full time in late 2018/2019.

IF he's a Thommo replacement then fine. But if he's played in addition to Thommo then that's where the issues start. They ain't sitting Thommo out for 22 game no matter how well other players play, so who comes out? History tells us that the younger players are the first ones to get booted out for senior recalls.
