Would fill the forward / ruck insurance role that Vickey did not want. And as Hawk Dork stated he would be cheap. I recon he'd be a good pick at 2nd round rookie.

Edit: With Fitzy and Ty leaving I thought we would need a mature age recruit to help us out while Mitchell and Cegs came up to speed. But after viewing tapes I think I now prefer picking up an 18 year old as our insurance by the name of Miller. He has the size and speed... and potential.

Not saying that Close isn't any good, but why would the Lions have delisted him if he was a great KPP, especially after losing Schache? If he can't find a spot on the Lions list, what value could he add at the Hawks?

Matthew Hammelmann was my suggestion a while back but Close would be in the same range as a long shot, long term player in a position of need

Hammelmann has been squeezed out by prospects already on the list plus some extras to come in this year via academy. Close just isn’t up to it fortunately. Showed early promise but never improved.
