I am a little disappointed though that Michael Doughty's game last week was not highlighted more. His precise use of the football, particularly by hand, resulted in a number of scoring options for the team. Whenever he had the ball we looked more dangerous. There are too many others in the team at the moment who always seem to pick the wrong option, or who cannot find a target. Our skill errors and poor decision making killed us last week.

We need to play more players who have the skills to operate under pressure. This will come by selecting one or two players each year from the top of the draft, whose skills set them aside other players. Our current list unfortunately does not have enough of these players and until it does we will continue to misuse the ball and snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

Agreed, Dogga had a reasonable game last week - but the key is consistancy. Michael needs to put 2 or 3 really good games together. We all know that he has the skills and talent, he just has to show us more often.

Yeah, was impressed with Dogga's play, as he worked hard to get quite a few clearances from the centre square (actually gave him a vote!) Probably explains why he was on lighter training this week too. We should continue using him as part of the midfield rotation this week & hopefully he can do it more regularly (ie. needs to work on consistently producing).

I was very happy with his game

But as has been said, consistency is the key

At the moment he is the sort of player who would get under the oppositions radar and hopefully that means he can put in a blinder this week and lead us to victory.

I agree guys, i thought Dogga was good on the weekend, used the ball well, broke the game plan of kick to St Kilda! If he doesnt hold his spot I will be bitterly Disapointed!!

A good game against Richmond too! Bout time, Ive rated this guy pretty highly in the past, glad he is getting the game time as well, now its Gallagher's turn, who is even better IMO.

Another top game from Michael. Let hope he keeps it up!

At the beginning of the year we thought he was a one position player.
Has shown he could be a midfielder - hands and skills were good, and matched Richmond physically.

Yeah, 2 solid games now from Dogga. Been great in close with his clearances from the packs (quick gives) & tackling. Hope he keeps it up.

Could use him at South, but great to see him doing well at the Crows.

I hope he doesn't play for South for a while........if he continues his good form with the Crows.

I used to adore Mods.......but he is not ageing gracefully, he has a tragic mulletesque haircut and yes, he is a bit podgy.

I thought Doughty went on his merry way last night and had another great performance. Could it be we are finding some consistancy? The shock of being nearly traded at the end of last season must have clicked something into gear for the Dogster, as he has definetly stepped up a notch this year. Usually a 'just on the outer' player, but from his performances this year; I'd place him starting 22.

Doughty could play as a forward at a pinch...he is surprisingly bulky, has some height, good pace and a good mark.

Just a thought.

I thought last night was a bit of a break through game for Doughty.

We've always acknowledged that he's got good skills and pace, but he's been a bit light on at times in going for a hard ball.

I really liked the way he crashed through on several occasions with eyes only for the ball.

Good on you, Mick - that's what we want from you every week.

I'm glad he's stringing a few decent games together.

In the past he's played a great game, then been average for the next few and ended up playing SANFL. Hopefully he can stay consistent.

Good stuff from Doughty. Has really worked on the defensive side of his game. His spoiling, tackling & rebound from defence was great on Saturday. He has had his pants pulled down before when used in a defensive role but over the last month he has found some consistency.

Keep it up Doughnuts!

Consistency is the key. He has now contributed well in 3 out of the last 4 games, so hope he continues the good form.

I seem to put a curse on my favourite players.... Mods went to Freo... Fitzy did his knee (x 2), got delisted... hopefully Dogga escapes unscathed.

I don't know who Bigman is, but I have read each one of his posts and everyone has been knowledgable and insightful.

Keep up the good work!
