Now that the eagles have said that the likelyhood of his contract being renewed is zero... would he be a good addition to the geelong team? Maybe a change to victoria would be the best thing for him..

any thoughts?

We could have Him and King doing ruck duties.. whilst gardiner also swaps with ottens down forward.. 3 big men could do alot of damage...

The first reaction is a big NO, but when you think about it, this argument has alot of merit to it. Obviously he would have to stay off the drugs and show some consistancy in the WAFL with good behaviour for the rest of te year.

What would the Eagles want, thats the thing. His future is shot at the club, but I bet they would still want heaps for him.

No.

He is a serial offender, doubt he can change his ways he has tried, played 3 gamese and then does it again?

Why would we want this moron at our club?

Changing states could do wonders.
Put him on a minimum contract for 1 year and see how he goes

I'd take him in a flash aslong as he is willing to play for half of the pay packet he is receiving at the moment.

That would make 3 All Australian Ruckman in one team. Not bad if you ask me.

Last thing we need.

The obvious character issues aside, Gardiner represents the band-aid fix, something we don't need right now.

Want a third ruckman? Play the lad in the #24 guernsey.

Great, then our team is reliant on 3, injury prone, meathead rucks.

He has already said he will change time after time, but it has obviously never happened.

Gardy will play before the Eagles reach the Gabba in rd 20......if you don't know that, you don't know footy or more importantly, as team in the hunt to win a flag.

well personally i dont think he'll change, but depending on what we have to offer, then I dont see the harm in it. If we can trade a gardiner for him then I dont see why we shouldnt do it. Aslong as we dont use ne draft picks and it could also do harm to Blake's rise

No. We don't want to hinder the continual development of Mark Blake and Trent West.

Besides we could be in the market for a John Meeson this off-season anyway.

reminds me of moon dog....awsome talent....lots of problems.
he would definatly make us unbeatable if he can get his act together, and just think of our foward line, look at all the lovely targets...plus well have hawkins, ottens and gardiner. throw nable, gazza, chappy and well all have a lovly time. i say go for it but dont throw a draft pick away thats for sure

My first reaction is No , then when I thought about it it was No and then when I have thought about it a bit more its still No.

This guy has just p**ed away a chance to play finals for Wc just when they needed him the most.Warning after warning , Chances galore and he still couldn't control himself.

As far as us needing another ruckman , Im all in favour of having an extra ruckman on the list at the expense of one of our KP players but only if he is elite quality. The ruck is such an injury prone position that we have been weak in for so long , I wouldnt be suprised if we grabed Matthew Leuenberger if he is there in this draft. If we are going to take more of a project approach Id say grab a guy missed in a couple of drafts and Rookie list him.A couple of years down the track we can make a better judgement on if a slow developer might be worth a place on our main list.

I think you're all mad. Clubs are trying to inject pace - we already have enough players this size. He is a serial offender, and injury prone. And i don't like the idea of him teaching bad habits (very bad habits) to young players.

He has (had) near cult status - high expectations- in the west, especially early in his career. Victorian team may do him some good...but not for the cats, too many injuries. I also heard on the news today that he is suffering from depression, which may explain some of the erratic behaviour.

Because some players have had the guts to admit depression, it will now be used as an excuse for people like this. This is just to lessen the charge.

I am super keen to get Gardiner over here. They Key reason is that Matty Spencer is from WA. Gardiner can come back here, Spencer can go home, Everyone is happy!

I wouldn't trade a thing, I know against the Swans was only one game but his skills/reaction time were ****house.

He's out of contract? So I'd take him in the pre-season draft, but he'd be backing up Blake.

Are you in the WCE medical dept?

On SEN this morning they played a bit from Karl Langdon's radio show last night.Apparently Langdon spoke to Gardiner and Gardiner doesn't know where Wet Toast pulled that depression excuse from.

Oh,I say no to getting Gardiner
He's already on 2 strikes.

Yeah, he's got a lot to be depressed about - 450K a year, endless publicity, ready made excuses for every mistake you make. Don't know how he can face the day.

A tough life being an AFL footballer.

In a word NO. No way in hell. Overrated footballer who is inconsistent and on the decline anyway, and with appalling discipline problems. No chance.
