 - not in this draft I wouldn't
If Neil Craig thinks he can bring the best out of Polak and get him to fulfill his potential I would do it in a second. In fact, I woud be signing the papers on monday 9th of October at 9 am ;)

This draft is no different to any other draft before it ;)

I look at it this way, the chances of us picking up a player of Polak's talent and potential with pick 14 are pretty slim.

what sort of money would polak command? would the decision on hart come into it?

I doubt he would command a lot of money and the decision on Hart wouldn't enter into it IMHO. Last I heard, AFC and Hart are close to finilising a performance based contract for next year.

Polak is still only 22 (and will be until half way through next season) and has alredy played over 70 AFL games. He is younger than both Rutten, Bock or Hentschel. He was drafted as a 17 year old.

While I would do it, I have a funny feeling that the AFC won't.

Polak, Gardiner....we only need the other one then the whole gang will be back together !!!

polak's stats show a history of about 10 touches a game, good number of tackles and not many goals. granted he mainly plays back but if we trade should it not be for a more attacking player.

id rather keep our first pick i think. anyway perrie, kenny and bock are all better than him i reckon.

Stiffy you have to be JOKING.

Riewoldt, Jetta, Connors, Hislop etc >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Polak.

Fremantle would be jumping for absolute JOY if we offered them pick 14 for Polak.

Polak is a mummys boy

I would prefer Gardiner over Polak and I think the 3-4 rucks we have are adequate to do the job..so

HMM>>>>>>>>>Gardiner>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Polak
You would know more than us, what has been Polak's biggest problem? What does his "baggage" consist of?

Is that all?!

Dummy spitting?!
He was selected as an emergency for a Friday night game and not selected. Under the rules he was then made available for his WAFL club the next day...he took off the Friday night and went and visited ''friends'' and was apparentley , allegedly too drunk to return . He made no contact with Freo officials to let them know what happened...just took off

As long as his ass points to the ground he will not kick 60-70 goals in a season.

Dont agree he is capable of this if he stays fit and and out of trouble.

However we will not get him as the price will be way to high for us trade week for us is going to be like a power premiership nothing to see

 Can you list some of these 'panic choices' that are such a part of our history (in the last 6-7 years, anyway)? Apart from Carey, of course.
Have to include Carey and the rest;......

Adam Richardson
Daniel Schell
Ian Downsborough
Barry Standfield
Jason McCartney
Brett Chalmers
Evan Hewitt.............enough ;)

Dude, West Coast will be practically giving him away.

It's a replica of the Brisbane?Aka scenario.......club and player want to separate....player is on contract......club HAS TO do a deal

It may be 11th hour trade but it'll be done and on ythe players terms not the clubs terms

Still control is in Gardiners hands unless he wants to get to a top club......if he nominated for the PS draft and puts a figure on his head....I doubt he would get blocked from the team of his choice.

Yes I agree Polak IS the pick of the KPP on offer......even over Tarrant

I would probably pass.
Interesting beacuse when he was drafted everyone here was wanting to crawl over cut glass to get him......amazing how fickle our opinions are and how easily influenced they are ;)

I was one of those players but he has showed absolutely nothing since getting drafted and has been injury prone.

Yes but I think a fact was stated this year that 9 of the top 10 draft picks were injured.

So often are players in their first few years injured these days due to the extra ordinary pressure placed on bodies by clubs....b4 the players bodies have had a chance to mature.

Smith is tall and lean...Bassett was also released from Melbourne for being SO injury prone...has hardly missed a beat with us.
