He was a Supercoaches dream in his first year. Got on him early with his 30+ possession games and made a motsa.

Thank you Mick.

He was also one of the best last season too (no Tom Rockliff though).

Good on Barlow though, I still love that jumper pull at Geelong last year pleading to get everyone to play for it

Naw, he's such a honey. One of my faves.

I had just returned to Perth from London and was driving along thru Belmont/Forrestfield getting to Gt Eastern Hway, listening to the footy match on the radio where he broke his leg, a kind of 'where were you when Mick broke it' sort of moment. So, I never saw the incident and to this day I've never seen it. And I don't want to see it.

I'm a bit of a wuss. :p

I thought he might not make it back and he went thru a lot of pain in those early games, getting used to playing footy with it again.

Such tenacity and courage. Bleeds purple. I love him.

Congrats Mickey on 100. And I hope there's many more.

Wow this made me remember where I was that day too. I got the call from perth and I was at a music festival in the middle of nowhere in Norway and was angry for the whole rest of the weekend.

That jumper tug video. Them feels. That was an emotional game

If we had won, he would have been among our big heroes. He just couldn't accept he could lose against the Cats. (And he wouldn't have if the umps didn't rob us in the 1st half.)

I think I've been pretty lucky to be at the high & low of his career. There the day he broke his leg (I cried), at the MCG for his first grand final, and in Geelong for that jumper tug.

The GF loss of 2013 aside, the day Mick broke his leg was one of the saddest moments in my Freo following days. I was guttered, just heartbroken for him, "the story" and the club.

Fortunately that horrible event happened to just the right sort of bloke - a kind who just gets back on his horse and works his but off, doesn't expect anything, doesn't wallow in self pity or play out a life of entitlement. Just does his thing.

On top of that, as others have said, he's a very symbolic player for me. Micky was one of those key characters that has been the harbinger of the power club we now are. Love him ... and who wouldn't. A champ.

Why is Mickey always up high forward?! These sort of moves changes players. His work in and under is missed atm. I know we have a few mids atm but he isn't fast enough or tall on the lead.
