Mid-season top 50

After watching the catters notch up another win on Friday night I was thinking about how many of the guys would get in Mike Sheanan's top 50 if he did another one now. At the start of the year we only had Scarlett (22) and Chapman (41) on the list, which was probably fair enough considering our 2006 season.

In my opinion Scarlett, Chapman, G.Ablett, Ling and Bartel would all be definates. Pushing for selection would be Mooney, Milburn, Egan, Ottens, and Corey. Unlikely but possible inclusions could be Wojak, and Johnson (not enough games).

What do other people think?

As far as CHF's go this year Moons has been very good. You'd have to fancy him being in the top 50.

Wojak would be boarderline which is not to take away from the season he has been having. His knee put him back 2 years and if he didn't do it he would really be rated a lot more.

Egan without doubt is in the top 50. A lot of people still don't rate him forone reason or another but his ability to read play and couteract a key forward's dominance is unquestionable.

Of the Cats that should be a definate chance for top 50 I'd say:
Ablett, Bartel, Scarlett, Chapman, Egan, Wojak, Mooney, Corey and Milburn.

I think what the Cats can base their success to date on is how many we have in the 50-100 range. You could easily slot another 12 into this range where we never could in the past. Our second tier players have steped up and are more accountable. This IMO is a more important factor than having more players in the 1-50, to an extent.

Top 10 - Ablett & Bartel
Top 30 - Scarlett
Top 50 - Chapman

Just outside though not by much:
Ling, Wojak, Milburn, Mooney, Egan
