I'm a little too drunk and lazy at this time of night to track down the data myself, but my impression in the last couple of weeks at least has been that our vote winners in the Bigfooty MVP voting have been the who-the-f*ck-are-they fellas (who the f*ck are they, if you don't follow Freo).
Aka: the non-stars. The not so sexy ones.
Most of our best players have been coming from our mid tier.
That is a huge thing... I'd hoped that it might happen. I'd heard that it has been, but the data (subjective as f*ck as it may be, tallied from our votes) suggest that the contributions of our mid tier players are really starting to have an impact.
Pav has been acceptable to middling. Sandi has done some good stuff but not dominated games. Barlow is building form. Fyfe has been great, but didn't play this week. Balla played one game, had two off and then and his game this week was really pretty average. Mundy played his first full game this week.
They're our stars. But our best players seem to be our mid tier, judging by the comments and voting. Many had said that Ross would drag the club up, not by the contributions of the stars, but by the improvement in the second and lower tiers.
Looks like it's happening! Great game tonight, and the win was thoroughly well deserved by the boys.
