This has absolutely nothing to do with race, so I don't know why anyone is bringing it up.

[/quote]What's that got to do with anything. It's not private vs state school here
WTF??? Not sure how you got that out of what I wrote!
My point is that 20 years ago Aboriginals got a hard time if they whinged about racial comments on the field. The general opinion was 'what happens on the field should stay on the field'. Nowadays it's accepted at every level of footy that behaviour like that is not on.
Many of you are treating Pearce in a similar manner i.e. he should leave it on the field and stop sooking.
I was not suggesting anyone here was bein racist towards the guy.

Just a few comments after reading a few pages of this thread:
1. Danyle Pearce is a slightly built Aborginal footballer. If he is a 'soft c*ck' as many of you are suggesting do you really think he'd make it to the big league?
2. Many of the comments people are making about Pearce are very reminiscent of comments I heard made about Nicky Winmar and other Aboriginal footy players when they decided they shouldn't put up with racial taunts on the footy field any more.
3. I see little/no anger towards Minson. Let's remember who's at fault here!
4. Good to see you all getting stuck into the working class Pearce who's only sticking up for himself and supporting Minson who grew up in the posh suburbs and went to one of the most exclusive schools in the country. Top stuff Aussies!
Hard to say considering no one knows exactly what was said. For all we know it was a racist comment about his mum??U,mm big difference between racial vilification and a mums sledge
If that was the case, there would have been some mention of it. With all the Port players around, especially Pearce, since Minson was talking to him.Hard to say considering no one knows exactly what was said. For all we know it was a racist comment about his mum??
I don't want to read through 27 pages of this, so can someone please tell me if I've more or less got this right:
Minson has been suspended for making what is essentially a "your mum" joke? He didn't say anything racist, nor did he bring up the deceased or ill?
Lucy Cornes brought up what Minson said about her kid 5 years ago for no reason?
This is all a joke, surely?
Wow. That's suspension worthy?pearce: "what have u ever done'
minson: "****** ur mum for half an hour"
You cannot take anything Will Minson says seriously so some need to get a grip.Seriously you only have to take one look at that obviously oversized and irregular cranium to realise he was born outside the waterbag.Hence no insulation hence severe brain trauma. Was that an earthquake or Minson banging someones Mum?
Sorry, had to drag myself from under some dislodged furniture, decapitate a couple of wandering zombies then restand my internet tower before i could respond..........
Yeah, I do.......cos I am in awe of the Epping U12's and their stance on family sledging. Don't worry about the PM, on here will be fine and then we can all laud your stance
..........oh and no, I didn't miss that but i don't really consider "Hey did you eat all the after match pies?" a serious sledging attempt.
Maybe. All I know is that Minson must have crossed a pretty fat line. There must be dozens of sledges during a game of footy and I've never seen a reaction like this (other than the last Minson sledge to K Cornes). Also why would Minson put himself in such an akward position by that apology for a harmless mum joke? It's pretty safe to say it has nothing to do with race.
I'd love that but would hate for some creep to stalk me based on what I write. Yes, I'm THAT GOOD.
Not good enough for someone to let you know how they jammed one into your mumma while you were at training..........come at me
Don't forget Pearce made a official complaint so don't act like he wasn't a sook about what was said, sums up the Port Adelaide mentality it seems very very weak
Nothing? Maybe you should apologize for your comments then.Find us a proper source.
Not necessarily. I'm pretty comfortable in believing what's been reported. Especially with Minson very strongly denying there was any sort of sexual abuse in it, and Picken backing him strongly. They wouldn't do that if it wasn't true, imo. But anyway, that would have only mattered if it went to the tribunal, which it obviously didn't.Maybe. All I know is that Minson must have crossed a pretty fat line. There must be dozens of sledges during a game of footy and I've never seen a reaction like this (other than the last Minson sledge to K Cornes). Also why would Minson put himself in such an akward position by that apology for a harmless mum joke?
That's what they get for skipping training I guess...
Not puffing around with their little red cheeks hoping to be good enough to draw a decent sledge from an opponent and the added bonus of banging the local bike........win/win![]()
