No im not talking about MA even though she was brilliant, but my attention here is on Miss finland - What a freak - Me and many others were adament the only reason Haradasun got near MF last year was because of her being first up with a wool winter coat and today proved a fit Miss Finland is far superior...

Whilst ont he same race, Haradasun obviously dissapointing, and even Efficient i though he was the main danger at the 300 but just didnt seem to goon with the run what are peoples thoughts.....

Also very unlucky was Marasco, to see pompie get such an easy run would break the heart of Marasco connections, marasco deserved that and the other 2 races he has run in Melbourne....

Last note would be go you mighty Filly Miss finland...

Oh might i add was very impressed with GE run, did not expect her to be so competitive, i wonder what the result wouldve been had Oli been able to get the lead... Seemed to kick real well and only just get run down...

ALso was it just me or was Caulfield slightly biased today, on pacers seemed to be a go, and thois was emphasisd when the highly likely Anamato (a renowned backmarker) was just off the pace sitting a pretty 4th or 5th....

Cmon GF,settle down.

My whole point has been that she has had 2 tries against older horses & has not placed.Good win today, against her own age again.
Outstanding 3yo she is,if she was a freak her record would not contain two failures against the true yardsticks. She would also be going to Dubai.

Where is she going?,Sydney fillies & mares race.
I guess thats one way to get her a win in restricted open company.
Credit to her owners for taking the races that look at her mercy.
Still hasnt convinced me that she's suddenly about to become an unstoppable WFA force.
You honestly believe a horse that hasnt won an open WFA race can be considered a freak?

miss andretti is a deadset legend....

what a gr8 race today in the newmarket!!!! thought GE was gutsy and suprised me by sticking to andretti at the 200....undue proved withou doubt also that it belongs in group 1 territory, will win some nice races....but andretti.....my fav horse....sat fairly wide just off the leaders and produced that trademark turn of foot that is devastating.......woooo!

When she beats a horse outside her age group you can talk about her being the best in the country. I suppose since she beat Casino Prince a nose that makes him the second best in the country?

true your statment that she has been unplaced against the older horse both times, however she was unlucky in the cox plate, couldnt get a run and some say she would have won with a clear run, but that is not a view that i hold, in the orr she was not disgraced but any means and was probably on the worst going where as el segundo came down the middle where is was obviously better. I cant wait to see her run in the cox plate later this year as a four year old.

If MF wins the Cox Plate,Ill be the 1st to congratulate her.
She will of course be 4 by then so the whole 3yo discussion will have passed.
Until then, can we just accept she's the best 3yo we have?

seth

I hope all of you come out and eat your words when she comes out and wins at WFA, because she will. You all sit here trying to put her down for some reason, but just look at what she's done in 12 months - Golden Slipper, Thousand Guineas, VRC Oaks, Australian Guineas and the AJC Oaks to come. That's like a WFA horse coming out and winning the Newmarket, the Doncaster and the Caulfield Cup all in one year. And don't sit there saying "the Oaks isn't a true staying race so we don't know if she can stay", because she was a closing 5th in the Cox Plate - that shows she can get a distance.

As for your comparison SS,thats just silly.Consistently beating her own age group proves what exactly,we already know she's too good for her age.
Cant believe how precious you guys are? Putting her down, give it a rest!!!
Emotion is important but reality ATM says she is a great 3yo only.

Age racing V open WFA racing is an age old debate.
The one certainty is that most junior champions are soon tarnished if they cant make the step. She's a great 3yo,as good as many of you have seen.
Would she have won the Aust Cup yesterday?
If she had the run P Ruler had & his ability to accelerate, maybe.
But as we all know, great horses are judged on the GP 1 open age record.

Seth,

Can you tell me if the .5 kilo that Oli was over on Gold Edition would have made a difference in the result. how much is .5kg in a clean run like GE had.

Don't think anyone has mentioned this.

Impossible to tell,IMO she ran out of her skin anyway.
Great 3yo filly to just miss in a hot open age GP1.
Always believed that weight is less important in sprints, the good ones seem to be able to carry weight over 1000/1200m.Rarely see the massive weights winning over a mile & further.

They are dead unlucky that Flemington's closed down, her Flem record is outstanding & that may have made the distance.

Exactly would've loved to see her down the straight..... Or even if she was ablee to get a lead and sit on the paint instead of going around two abreast...

Have to agree with Seth about the weight.

MF Best 3yo - easy..... Best horse, cant be said just yet, definately a future possibility though.... Due to the biased track (atleast i believe so) she had to race ubpreferrably bu was still able to win.... Casino Prince ran a very good race but was on the paint the whole way... And really is not even close to her...

Wheres the Haradasun talk, just what exactly happen, i was watching at the grandparents house with no volume and am yet to see the replay so not exactly sure where he settled, or how he finished..

Just waiting on the brainwashed fools on here to come in and tell us all that once again it was the jockeys fault that the greatest horse of all time lost yet again.

Horse was too far behind when they settled and it just wasn't good enough to run down the champ.
Needs to be spelled, and after that run it in weak fields and G3 races because it isn't good enough to beat quality horses.

Rawiller is terrible but the horse isn't at the level Miss Finland is. Casino Prince, if back to his best, is as good as him too.

OUCH!!! Pretty sure that was an open GP1 field it just flogged.
3yo that can beat older horses at GP 1,good for racing

Beat??? It hung the whole way,ran off the track,AC never left the fence.
Still gave it a cold in the straight.

If its average, theres a lot of duds running aroung at Gp 1.
Are you the guy who said Efficient is the equal of El Segundo?

C'mon who did it beat, very average field.
It had to go upto Sydney to win because it can't cut it in Melbourne.

And i believe Efficient could be a very good horse if the people in charge would stop sticking it in 1600m races and concentrated only on 2000+

You realise that ATM Sydney has the GP 1 racing?

I agree Efficient is promising but the comparison was a bit silly.
Not even nearly the best 3yo we have, let alone best horse

Yes i know that but there are probably 2-3 horses worthy of even running in group one races going around today.
Looking at the fields most of these races should be group 2 or 3 at best.

Unfortunately because of the dearth of quality horses going around atm, these horses become the group one horses because of a want of anything else.

Well, unfortunately its the Race that classified Gp 1,field is kinda irrelevant.
The big H is a group 1 open class winner as a 3yo.
I know thats hard to believe but Im sure,in time, youll come to terms with it.
If he wins the Doncaster will you admit he's better than average?

Oh hes better than average i don't doubt that, he is a good horse and in a year or two can do some damage.
But some people on this forum go around talking about him like he is the greatest horse of the last 50 years.

If Miss Finland (who plenty of people on this forum have no problem bagging, but Haradasun still hasn't beat in two attempts) Runs in the Doncaster, and Haradasun beats her, then maybe i'll start to believe the hype.
