Mitch Clark Return..

Don't be a constant pillock and help the cause.

And you'd be wrong.

Ridiculous.

Some of you guys are borderline special bus cases.

Come on brew rookie posters... you're going to convert all the rookies into Dockerland acolytes and make their forum slightly more meaningful than a Tim Gossage knowing wink.

He's not on our list ya pillock.
If you can't see a parallel with the crap you've been spouting about Josh, you're not much of a thinker. You think Clark can just magically "work through his issues" and then become plug and play without any consideration for his ongoing welfare?

The sad state of our key forwards mean Mitch would have to be considered. I've always rated him highly but was filthy with him when he took the Demons deal. We would be crazy not to consider it, he'll come for probably $200k a season and on ability is worth 4 times that at his best. If we got 2-3 good seasons out of him it could keep us in contention between Pav retiring & Apeness/Taberner coming good.

Gumby has ASADA and a crippled body, Taberner shows a bit but to me is more of a lead up than a contested type of guy. Pav has one more year left, Apeness is probably 2 years away & Clarke is more of a ruckman than a forward as is Griffen.

As per the article....he's still in Melbourne. If he wanted to come home he would have by now. If he's thinking of playing agin it's not likely for us.

Just sold his place in Melbs. Definitely heading home. .................................... To play for us;)

Yes I know that you all have more empathy than me. It's been amply demonstrated.

I think you're all a bunch of girlie show offs.

If you want to have a genuine chat about it, PM me and I might be able to help. Seriously.

Ah, thanks, but no thanks.

You can blow it out of where the sun don't shine.
Fair enough, I know the first step can be daunting. Let me know if you change you mind.

It's because Clark is white.

That is the be all and end all of it.

But Danny is too much of a coward to come out and say it.

There was a great interview last night between Damien Barrett and Mitch Clark on the Footy Show. It was done at Mitch's home in Melbourne.

He said that he regrets making a decision to play for the club that offered him the most money, and at the end of the day guilt of being paid so much while he was injured got to him.

He has put on a bit of weight, but the guilt of being paid so much whilst he wasn't playing has now been lifted.

He is feeling much better now, but the reason he quit football when he did was after suffering 3 torn hamstrings, all in the same place, in a row during the pre-season this year.

He did look good though, other than being a bit over weight and probably feels that he could play again.

But the fact of the matter remains that he is injury prone, even though he is still only 26.

Is there a forum anywhere for serious discussion about Fremantle Dockers which is not heavily censored by know-it-alls with too much time on their hands?

I used to enjoy Dockerland (reading, not contributing) until I realized that very few new posters stayed around, and it was mainly the same old rusted on posters who agreed with Shane who stuck around.

I switched to Big Footy on the recommendation of a friend and really enjoyed it for a while. Until I realized that very few new posters stayed around, and it is mainly the same old rusted on posters who either agree with the "gurus" on here or are prepared to accept their abuse.

We all have differing views, but what should bring us together is a love for Freo. Unfortunately there are a few on here whose bigotry and personal vendettas detract greatly from the enjoyment of the vast majority.

Yes, I have two people on ignore, but unfortunately that doesn't prevent almost every thread they "contribute to" tunring in to a bun fight.

Hopefully at some point it will be possible to start a thread or express an opinion without clearing it with the unofficial moderators, until then I will read from time to time but choose not to contribute, as I know many others choose to do as well.

Thanks to the majority of you for your insights and opinions, I have enjoyed interacting with the genuine supporters.

You really are a ******* bushie.

Everyone is racist, I know, I get it.

Dickhead.

really?

You seem only to willing to lend a hand to Clark, but ever so quick to throw Simpson on the rubbish heap.

You know it, and I know it Danny. You just don't have the pills to admit it.

Clark is not a Freo player you slow learner.

I couldn't like this post enough.

It doesn't help when newbies are spanked straight out of the forum for not having 6 generations of football knowledge flowing through their brains. Fremantle is one of the most culturally intergrated clubs in Australia; rich with Indigenous tradition and a huge multicultural fanbase (something the Eagles can't really attest to), how many of those people are going to be interested in joining this forum when all they see is a Justin Beieber Youtube comments page.

Well technically I think they (the Clarks) have some indigenous heritage, but I'd have to check. Anyway, play on.

If he wants to ever enjoy playing footy again without out resentment and anxiety constantly attached, he should probably stop associating making a living out of it and just play for fun in the WAFL with no strings attached. External expectations compounding in Mitch's mind got him to where he is in the first place.
This is an excellent post. It is something I worked through myself with addiction/depression and the music industry. I had to learn how to play purely for love again after many years as a pro. Now I play for love in about 5 bands and even get paid occasionally but its not my primary source of income.
Having said all that and from the other side of the fence, I'm sort of in the camp that if Clark was prepared to accept a rookie spot and minimum wage he would be worth a punt. Is a seriously good forward and exactly the type we need and even acknowledging the above I think Freo has the smarts in player management to create an environment where Mitch might enjoy professional level training and having a run with Peel for half a year and see how that goes.
