I cant stress enough how childish and basically borderline classless Mitch was with Fremantle during the small negotiations in terms of salary, Really put the freo recruiters noses out of joints and even killed any interest West Coast had

I'm not denying he's a fantastic player, Because he is, He's had some brilliant periods in his career, Very unlucky to miss AA in 09, Had some brilliant patches up forward

When he turned up at Melbourne he looked like their savior in 2011, I hate to use the term "If he played all games" but he would of bagged 60+ goals, Structually was Melbournes most importaint player and maybe they wouldn't of been in the wilderness for so long

However He had/Has issues with his general dealings with some clubs, He's talented enough to get another chance
Whilst I know the bold part is not true, even if it was it shows no class to hold a grudge and take your time, 2 years later, to again stick the boots in. As someone else has said, if Ross is angry about not getting him he should point his classless rants at Chris Bond. Stinks of a misdirected and jilted lover remark.

I've seen some shit things said about him in the past few days. There are some nuffys out there when it comes to footy.

To be honest I'm 50/50 as to whether I care if my club lives or dies at this point.

You have no idea the pits of despair our supporter base is in. There are nihilists like myself, but we are vastly outnumbered by the pure rage and hatred our fans can channel toward almost any player (Nathan Jones and Jack Viney are untouchable, everyone else is fair game), coach, runner etc.

I'm not personally involved with the club actually. I'm not an employee, I'm a consumer. And it is one steaming turd of a product.

Footy Mad, please stop making reference in every post about Melbourne supporters. Melbourne supporters have nothing to answer for, and this thread is not about them. Your constant fascination with them is boarder line trolling. Thanks.

Contrary to your point in Clark and Frawley cases think they are playing their part.

No, you're wrong. Please continue to post without mentioning Melbourne supporters. Thanks.

No problems think you need to read what Melbourne supporter The Coup wrote. Certain fans have reacted very poorly. But your opinion I will bow too.

You should just keep posting the same attack against Melbourne supporters. Oh, wait, you have been.

Thanks for coming.

Freo did royally stuff the Clark deal, but only because Mitch Clark turned his back on Freo in the end.

Only in hindsight can you say we negotiated poorly.

If a player says he wishes to go to a specific club, then said club holds all the aces. If Fremantle had an inkling that their man may buckle, then I'm certain they'd have just offered pick 16 and been done with it early.

Anyway he's played 15 games in 3 seasons and although Ross's comment weren't great I'm glad our club has ruled a line through him.

I'll bet my left nut he won't play a further 50 games of AFL.

Yes , fit body and mind apparently. ready to go

He's a long way away from ramping up to the kind of training loads necessary to play AFL or get through a season.

Remains to be seen. Would seem that MFC, with all the inside info at their disposal aren't entirely convinced if the low/performance-oriented/rookie contract offer is anything to go by.

Agree, but it's not as if Clark and his manager are showing much class either.

Hardly the same, he has decided to play for another club other than Melbourne, that is his decision and he is exercising it and unfortunately there is nothing in the settlement to stop him doing it. That is opportunistic and disloyal, not classless. If Melbourne didn't guard against that with their settlement then they can't really say too much. Melbourne are handling it well, Clark and co are doing what they want and are able to do and Ross
Lyon is injury trolling and behaving like a jilted lover.

I don't think it's at all that difficult to get "value" out of it.

I mean it's pretty clear what the role entails, it isn't rocket science.

Buckley has just had poor players to execute it i.e. Dawes/Lynch who aren't mobile enough for it.

A Mitch Clark speaks for himself. He'd be a far from poor fit. This is one type of player we would welcome with open arms, provided everything above the shoulders was clear.

Totally agree. Lynch/White were used incorrectly as 2nd KPFs rather than as mobile marking targets who could help out in the rucks. And Dawes was used as a 2nd ruck which he was totally unsuited to.

Clark on the other hand can present as a genuine pack marking threat who will immediately take attention away from Cloke and the resting rucks. It frees up Reid to go back. I even think it would enable White to be played on a wing or be the 4th target (that's how Sydney got value out of him)

What is his value?

Very hard to gauge.

PROS: Only been out of the AFL system 6 months, has been on a club diet and fitness plan the whole time. You're not getting a guy out of the system, you're getting a guy that took a holiday.

Over 200cm and over 100kg and moves like a midfielder. Can leap. Can play ruck, forward, wing, midfield for stretches. Good hands, good skills.

CONS: Lesfranc injuries are shocking (from what I've read) and rarely do athletes come back from them properly. We only saw a glimpse of Mitch after his and the screws bothered him. If he's healthy, great. But there are serious question marks.

Mental health and reliability. Said all the right things to Freo, Brisbane and Melbourne and has let them all down in one way or another professionally.

You really can't overstate how much talls are worth. Especially guns like Mitch Clark. Most clubs would take a punt on field, but the off field stuff and health issues are a different matter altogether. I'd say a second rounder, but I also don't think Melbourne have a leg to stand on and he will be free to sign with whoever he likes or enter the PSD.

If fit though, you really can build a forward line around him. He's very intimidating to play against too.

“I don’t care — well, I do care what illness he’s had — but it’s not reflective of the trade bait. If he’s going to be traded, he’s got to accept that he took on responsibility to sign a three-year contract with Melbourne. He didn’t complete it and now he wants to play for someone else? No, no, no.

I take it, Clark has said no to carlton.

Hmmmm, Malthouse criticising someone for not completing a contract and looking to play elsewhere. Sounds familiar.
