Injury free he is the best young ruckman in the league.
Bang and crash style like Mumford, but with with above average tap work.
Needs to get fitter but is good kick of the footy and can take a contested mark.
He is worth a top ten draft pick
He's not worth a top 20 pick. You West Australian snort a special kind of substance over there.

You traded pick 21 to get Rhys Stanley who has had 34 hitouts in a game 3 times in 115 games.

Darcy is 20 and averages 34 hitouts a game from his first 15 games.
Stanley never played as a legitimate ruckman until this year either and in a 7 game stretch during the season he was ranked #2 ruckman in the entire league. The berating of Stanley just shows how much of an idea people really have.

Darcy is tripe. Moves slower than me after a slab of bundy red.

LOL.

#2 ruckman in the league and the best midfield of all time. Why did you finish 8th?

Dean Cox at 20 was a potato who couldn't run 400m. He turned out OK. If you don't rate Darcy that's cool (he's alright, I'm not his #1 fan but I'd happily have him) but you're just demonstrating once more how little you understand about AFL trades. Ruckmen are regularly traded for more you think they would be.

You don’t understand, Geelong fans think they have talent equivalent of 10xtop 5 draft picks.

In fact they just have to play a game and automatically value is inflated into stratosphere.

Just ask them.

Meanwhile a player actually showing top 5 talent Tom McCartin, a Geelong boy, slipped through their fingers....

Talk to CD if you've got an issue

Rucks are also regularly traded out for less.

Nankervis and Witts are both now solid first rucks and went for third rounders.

Both those guys could barely get a game after a few years on their respective lists. Sam Jacobs only went for pick 34 but then Carlton stocked up on 4 ruckmen and couldn't keep all of them.

Robert Warnock went for pick 24 and 56
Cameron Wood went for pick 14
Darren Jolly went for pick 15 at age 23 and pick 14 at age 28
David Hale ended up going for 27 in the Gold Coast draft

As a general rule if a ruckman is young and part of a club's plans or AFL-ready there will be a bit of a premium compared to an equivalent small. Freo have Sandilands who is 36 and Darcy who is 20. There's no way they would give away Darcy cheaply.

This 21 for Stanley is misleading every time it is brought up. We lost a player we didn't expect to (Christensen) and used THAT pick to get a ruck where we were weak. And it was a dud trade at least until this year, no GFC supporter was an advocate of it.

Thanks to ROYAL EAGLE for flying the Darcy flag, the under-rating by Geelong fans is mind-blowing when you compare to how their players are rated

I have no idea how Geelong lost a game

Jesus Christ you guys can whine. You know this entirely meaningless, yeah?

My bad, i must have gotten lost. Thought i was on a football discussion forum where people discuss these things, disagree, have some banter

I see how it happens though last time freo waltzed down to kardinia park it was 133 point margin lol. And geelong clearly aren't much chop

The great darcy had 6 touches, 3 Mark's and 38 hitouts vs Abbott who picked up 18 touches 31 hitouts literally VFL

15 games seriously keep him a lumbering ruckman in the modern game

If Robert warnock or Cameron woods names being mentioned wasn't enough of an issue perhaps we can get something from this decade that went well lol
