I've always thought Mitch Morton is an absolute gun and when the cards were down at Richmond he was the only one who stepped up and kicked goals before the rise of J-Roo.

Now it seems J-Roo a lot like his cousin is too selfish to let anyone else be a focal point up forward. With a change of scenery and given the opportunity to apply his trade in a strong side where their are no individuals I think he would be a great fit at the Pies moving forward. When he is playing good footy he reminds me of Stevie J.

Thoughts?

I have always thought he was a lazy player. But when he went into the midfield for them he was pretty good. But still no. I think we have enough of the them small fowards/midfielders.

I like him as a player but he is inconsistent. We lack marking forwards and he could fill that roll. I doubt he'd get a spot in the team over our current forwards though. If we could iron out his deficiencies?? In reality I think our list is too tight for spots to have him as a serious consideration.

Mitch has had some family issues this year which resulted in him heading home for a couple of weeks... when he came back he wasn't match ready and took him some time to break back into the side.

IMO better suited to the midfield or HFF, than FP.

Would love him to stick around, but have a feeling he will be offered as trade bait to GWS.

He wouldn't be a suitable for the Pies. If you do think he is worth the punt, he wouldn't cost you much at all.

I, personally, like other Richmond supporters see him easily in our best 22. For talent top 10. Easily.

Unfortunately at the core of Mitch Morton there is something wrong. I don't know whether it is application, passion, low confidence, or a mix of all 3. But something isn't right. I think we need to stick with him until it clicks again for him but I don't think he is happy at the moment. There has been talk of depression as well.

Give him space on a tight angle, he will kick a goal 10 times out of 10. But that in itself is a problem. He is selfish, and he likes it. Give him a team orientated game plan, and he will struggle. Give him a game plan where he is the number one goal kicker and doesn't need to worry about others. Watch him star.

He is one of the most frustrating players I have seen. He has the ability, no doubt, but just can't seem to find a way to correctly display it.
