Mitch came into my small business this afternoon. After letting him know that I thought he would end up a star, I told him that he would look much better in the navy blue. He then let me know it is a possibility by the end of this week. Was he taking the piss out off me or does he know something we don't know.

I think the first question is are you taking the piss out of us?
No!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It is the truth. To protect my identity I won't say when or where, But it happened. I will say he was with a stunning Blonde and is much taller than I thought.

Would u do a straight swap for T-Bird?

We'd need more than T-Bird to get that deal done if there is any truth to that. I don't see how any deal could get done, as Hawthorn would demand a lot of Thorpe.

1.No
2.He's Contracted for 2 years, signed a newie within the last 2 months
3.I'll give you that you know what his missus looks like
4.Required player next year with croad out for half the season next year
5.He's the Ilk of player which would demand at least getting pick 6 back after we have spent 2 years helping him get over injury problems, NOT a thornton
6.Prepare for defensive hawks fans to attack you, Thorp is quite happy at hawthorn, and rightly so, we took a punt on a talented player with hip problems, and have shown him patience, and he knows that.

2.He's Contracted for 2 years, signed a newie within the last 2 months. Irrelevant.
3.I'll give you that you know what his missus looks like Irrelevant.
4.Required player next year with croad out for half the season next year You'd think this would increase the likelihood of trading for Thornton
wouldn't you? 5.He's the Ilk of player which would demand at least getting pick 6 back after we have spent 2 years helping him get over injury problems. Not a chance in hell. We're not Fremantle.
6.Prepare for defensive hawks fans to attack you, Thorp is quite happy at hawthorn, and rightly so, we took a punt on a talented player with hip problems, and have shown him patience, and he knows that. Bring them on.

We'll exchange third Rounders as a sweetener. ;)

7. you are a blatant troll and bullshit artist, so no one can take what you write seriously, judging by the drivel you sprout on bay 13 :D :D

If Thorp is available to trade, you can bet that Ratts will be in there fighting for him.

Speaking to Ratts a few days before the draft that year, he said he was the best player he had seen in the draft and was huge wraps for him.

Listening to Pelchen on SEN on the way home from work tonight, he said clubs had enquired about 8 or 9 Hawthorn players and the Hawks were open to talk about any of their players for the right price.

Interesting....

If this is true, then this may well be what has happened, Hawthorn has inquired about Thornton, Ratten replied and said that he wants Thorp in return. Hawthorn has then informed Thorp of this or something, and Thorp has then proceeded to enter a small shop and tell the person working there that he might get traded to Carlton :thumbsu::)

Reckon the Hawks will still want more Malifice.

A little optimistic I know...

Exchange of third rounders?

I'm struggling to come up with something else of value...

Maybe engineer something with the Dogs for Fisher - they may pay a little over the top for a Forward, and will probably get something decent for Ray?

Reckon T Bird plus a pick from 10-20 would just about do it. He's really only providing a depth player option at the Hawks atm.

Thorp (NO E, FOR GOD SAKE!!) won't be leaving. I'll put my BF Membership on that!

We do realise that Thornton is an experienced yet still youthful defender. An ideal third tall that Hawthorn is keen on or at least have been. And Thorp, has he actually played a game yet. So the trade off for giving up the potentially better player is getting an experienced defender right now in your premiership window who is still young and has about 100 games under his belt. To me it sounds like a very fair trade. I would still exchange 3rd rounders if necessary.

He'll be more than that in future. It's just like saying Hampson is a depth player for us - we all know he's going to be pivotal to our future.

Yeah - but with Buddy, Roughead and (Probably) ROK.. how many opportunities is he gonna get over the next few years?

Loosing Thornton and Fisher would free up some cash as well - way more than he's getting over at Hawthorn - plus he'd be a guaranteed started in our best 22 every week.

Should really give it this one a good shake IF the rumors true.

Oh and FWIW - Id call Hammer more of a project player than a depth player. Needs more time to develop. Forced to play him early due to lack of rucks.

I have a Hawthorn mate who thinks Thorp will take up a spot in the back half, while Franklin sits on the wing with Dowler at FF.

Interesting point you bring up with ROK though...very interesting.

Btw, i think the Hawk fans would refer to Thorp as a project player also ;)

Makes me happy.

Oh, and just to re-iterate, Thorp isn't moving clubs.
