Well believe it or not some people here think I'm not serious enough. Well in an effort to gain respect I have decided to become more serious, starting with this poll.
Everytime I see a TV show and a black guy is with a black girl, white with a white girl, asian guy with an asian girl etc I get so annoyed. Sadly this is a pretty accurate reflection on society. Whenever a black guy is with a white girl they gey more than amount of stares. To me race does not make a difference when selecting a partner. If you love someone you love them for who they are, not their race. It is hard enough to find someone who you connect with, why make it harder by adding another obstacle? I wonder what you guys and girls think about this topic. I hope I'm not alone in my belief.

Rocco.

It can make a fair bit of difference depending on how you look at it.

For the two people involved it wont mean anything as they are obviously the ones who wish to be together.

However, the associated relatives, friends etc can and do make an impact. 'Why are you going out with her for' 'Whats wrong with that nice boy from your own background'. Peer group pressure shouldnt but does influence our lives.

Still ive know many 'mixed' couples (me being a part of one) that work. Be great if you could put prejudice aside but the world is a sad place and it dont work like that, at least not as often as it should.

To me, no. I mean, I have liked Europeans, Asians, blacks, and Aussies. I find Australian girls most attractive, but mixed relationships don't bother me in the least.

Going off the topic a little bit but at school we were talking about something like this.

Someone asked if anyone had ever seen a black man with an asian woman or vice versa. I honestly can never remember seeing a relationship of this sort. It just doesnt happen at all or very rarely occurrs because of the traditional school of thought and barriers between different ethnic groups. Has anyone else ever noticed a relationship of this sort?

Personally it makes no difference to me, but if you are looking for a life long commitment, it could be a bit of problem with the family and with bringing up your children as you are both of different backgrounds.
I'm Jewish and neither me or my parents have a problem with me dating non- Jewish people, mum just keeps on telling me that when it comes to raising a family or marrying into a family, it is very important to make sure that one doesn't rule out the other and that everyone is happy about it.
My family friend married an African American guy and his parents hated her so much that after 2 kids they got divorced. I think thats really sad because race or age or religion should make no difference when it comes to love, but unfortunatly some people can't see beyond what meets the eye and its very sad when a relationship is cut short due to race problems etc...

Not at all. Was with a girl who was half-Japanese, half-German ... and she was da bomb!!! :p

Mind you ... i once knew a girl at uni who was half-Japanese, half-Swedish!!

Ya!!!! :D:D

I don't care. I'll f*ck anything. :D

Nah seriously, I think Grendel and Hitman said it pretty well.

Race or religion dosn't play a part in who I choose to like or dislike, although certain features such as hair colour, healthy complexion, figure, boobies, etc do play a part in whether or not someone is attractive to an individual. But that's not all that counts. Intellectual stimulation and a general good feeling are probably the most important things, once I've got to know someone.

There's ugly white chicks, black chicks, asians, mixed race people just as all races have stunners too. All races have nice, warm kindhearted people, just as all have selfish pricks.

Tiger Woods is the product of such a relationship.

I was in the early stages of a relationship with a half black girl and it didn't work because of the cultural differences and the influence of most of my friends. We both liked each other and she was the only dark skinned girl I've ever been attracted to, but it was just weird when we started going out. I'd feel like the odd man out if we went to an R&B Club, she'd feel weird at my Aussies mates parties and there were always the odd comments from friends. I decided it wasn't really working, we still sorta go out but it's not exclusive (an open relationship if u will ;)), just not advisable because of social intolerance...

No, not at all. Every human being deserves to be treated with respect no matter what race, creed, background etc.

Cheers, Pat
