He is a dickhead, but where was the outrage when his lady said she doubted the validity of him being approached to model? That was directly based on her opinion of his appearance.

Don't think there would be anyone batting an eyelid had the comment been made to a male.

She didn't say that at the table though did she - just in the talk to camera bit by me recollection

And there's a difference between questioning if he'd been approached to model and someone effectively saying another person is ugly. I mean why even say that?

In any case I find mick annoying for more than just his batting above average comment

She said that to the camera though, not to their face at the table.

A 7 from them seemed a little low considering the scores from the others and the judges. Could be another group where the designated bad guy (the fish dude) isn't actually the biggest douche team.
 
I doubt that young chick is as dumb as she was acting. Surely anyone who isn't borderline ******ed can subtract 21 from 35?

I actually found the older one more annoying as the show went on. A 35yo acting like a 15yo.

At least they weren't dull like the Asian dudes though. I'm sure they're nice guys but that was a pretty boring ep.

Obviously its hard to know without tasting the food, but the judges scores seemed to be quite generous (esp entree and main) for what were pretty simple dishes with small-ish portions

I thought they were generous with the main that portion was pretty small.

Yeah I'm not suggesting it is on the same level, but one is massively condemned and the other seems quite accepted.

I'm sure if the comment was made to a man who married a more attractive woman there would be far less of an outcry.

Not at all saying it's OK to say. Just that in my experiences of similar things, this seems to be far less accepted than when the roles are reversed.

I had to look up "batting merrins" and I know my Aussie lingo, supposedly to do with Trent Merrin dating Sally Fitzgibbons...

Cause Trent Merrin is the ugliest bloke on earth... What was the name of the Union bloke that was engaged to Kate Ritchie or that pommy fella who got married to a royal those boys were batting above their average or punching above their weight, that fashions on the field flog looks like the sort to say something idiotic like that. Bigger flog than fishman

Yeah, batting above your average and punching above your weight are pretty common but I'd never heard of batting merrins

It's also a pretty standard jibe amongst mates but I've rarely heard it applied to a female
 
Incident was relatively minor but roid head obviously has the social nous of an under cooked scallop if he thinks its appropriate dinner table chat.
