My 2c guess is that the personality clash with Mirren has been overblown. She would have had to deal with many difficult co-stars over the years. But she's been phoning it in for the lolz for some time now. Red, and the Fast and Furious movies were fun.

These issues with Hardy are probably not a new thing. I wonder if season 2 will end like season 1, where it's unclear if Harry lives or dies. So they can go either way depending on whether Hardy is in it. But if he's not going to be in it they might keep up the illusion that he might be so it doesn't overshadow S2.
