Re: Call of duty: Modern Warfare 2

It looks like they're sticking it up Treyarch to me.

I remember one of the lead developers from IW getting stuck into the guys from Treyarch last year.

Because they just took the same online format and added a few things. I still think Treyarch get harshly judged, but they are going to struggle with the Call of Duty franchise if they repeat WW2 scenarios. Most people will go for the Modern Warfare games, if Infinity Ward look into going beyond Modern Warfare 2.

Re: Call of Duty - Modern Warfare 2

I think we're gonna have to get some 'Search Function n00b' rules thread up as there are too many that tend to be made on the back of a trailer/screenshots etc.

SEARCH FUNCTION n00b!!!

BTW, what's so special about the trailer?

Re: Call of Duty - Modern Warfare 2

Eastern Conference finals. A basketball level?
I've heard LeBron is the king in the game(Shaq is his bitch).;)

Have to say the whole snow theme is getting a fair friggen run this year, Uncharted 2, Battlefield: Bad Company 2 and now MW2.

maybe helicopter level?
This will be a sequel to the mission in COD4, can't remember the name now(Somebody will), but you use infra-red type vision to scout enemies from the sky and rain down hell on them through numerous weapons, undoubtedly among if not the best mission in COD4, so that's what that mission/level will be in MW2.

Re: Call of duty: Modern Warfare 2

I hate underwater levels in any game on any platform. I've never enjoyed it since my Mario days on the Nintendo. Not enough variety in underwater levels.
HBK, I think the level you are referring to is 'Death From Above'.

Some good side-scrollers have done the underwater thing fairly well IMO, I believe the latest Tomb Raider did an underwater level pretty well too, I played a little bit of it at the eGames expo last year, was pretty fun, there were sharks and such and it was really open too.

But don't know how it would work in an FPS, although this looks to be taking a lot of the FPS out of it(Judging by the snow mobile part of that teaser, could add some great variety to the game.

Yep, that's it, was always going to be a sequel of sorts in MW2, hopefully it's just as good, but not exactly the same, expanded and maybe a little longer(Or even twice during the campaign).

oh god i hated that level!
possibly my least fav in the game

also there is no way it is better than the sniper level.
imo possibly the most immersive/amazing fps level of all time

Re: Call of duty: Modern Warfare 2

Call of Duty 4s single player is quite possibly the best game I've ever played.

Why is everyone so disappointed with it? I'm not talking about just us but reading peoples opinions everywhere and they all say that MP saved the game.

.....wat?

Really? That was insane amounts of fun for me, I think I played it about 3 or 4 times over straight away just to keep blowing everything up.

The sniper level was fantastic, probably a tie between those 2 as my faves.

To Kerrbs, IMO COD4's campaign is easily in the top 3 this gen for me, up there with Half Life 2 and Portal, probably the most immersive and stunning campaign I have played this gen anyway, was like playing a movie, also if anything for me the online ruined the overall experience, simply because of the shit online structure and constantly getting lagged out games(Obviously had it not had so much lag it would be great, but I got it at the worst times, so I stopped playing it).

Re: Call of duty: Modern Warfare 2

I was glad it didn't go on any longer, but I did kind of enjoy it.

Most FPS campaigns were never meant to be and are just plain shit.

The games i've recently played -

Killzone 2 - really bad SP due to controls, repetitive AI and situations.

Far Cry 2 - the worst FPS I have ever played for a ton of reasons.

Resistance 2 - surprisingly okay. It was always mixed up, numerous different situations, enemies, weapons and objectives.

Resistance: FoM - a fantastic, well told story was the only good thing about the campaign.

CoD5 - Didn't even finish it. Dodgy hit detection and the weapons were boring to shoot.

I would rank them:
1) Resistance 2
2) CoD4
3) Killzone 2
4) Resistance: FoM
5) CoD5
6) Far Cry 2

I wouldn't play any of them through again.

Re: Call of duty: Modern Warfare 2

Another thing to add....

If Infinity Ward don't add a region filter, i'm going to shit in an envelope and send it to their headquarters.

edit - Half Life 2 is last gen. I couldn't play through all of it anyway. It's the only game to make me feel nauseous.

Alright then....

:o

Anyway, I haven't seen too many complaints about COD4's campaign, the only one really being that it's too short, but the quality of it and the multiplayer should make up for that.

I doubt I will even buy MW2 if it doesn't have a region filter, regardless of Camo hosting all the games, personally I don't want to play every game type that Camo chooses, I have my faves and those are the ones I love to play, no way I am getting into DM's and TDM's just to not have lag.

I know the game is last-gen, but considering I have only played it on this gen console(Thus the 'FOR ME') it is this gen FOR ME(Get it biggy?), also the episodes are still apart of the Half Life 2 story and do (More so when ep 3 comes out) complete the game, ep 2 was this gen(Ep 1 in 2006, so the start of this gen).

What do you mean by it made you nauseous?

Re: Call of duty: Modern Warfare 2

It's a really common problem. To be more specific, it's motion sickness.

Look at this.

Thousands of people have literally thrown up whilst playing the hover craft level.

Even the FOV fix didn't help me. Every time I played it, I felt sick for over an hour and in the end it just wasn't worth it.

Luckily I only bought the HL pack for HL2DM, which I generally didn't have any issues with.

But it's not this gen.

It was on the original Xbox FFS. Granted, apparrentley it was a severely watered down version with sloppy framerate and such.

The half life games are probably the type best played on PC anyway.
