Think Tank Mofra's Lazy Bottom 40 for 2025

Dan Brown's next novel will be about the secret messages encoded in Mofra's Bottom 50.
Would say more like George R.R Martin, victim of their own high initial standard, and long gaps between release resulting in fans creating their own theories and predictions.

Speaking of Silvagni I have two questions.

Can ex players now showing extreme ineptitude and nepotism in off field roles be nominated?
How many times have two family members made the same bottom 40?
Can't answer your question.

But Ben has been invited to train with the Saints .. Big chance for Supplementary spot...

Player 36 (stone) - Mitch McGovern

Mitch McGovern was a tallish defender from Carlton who probably would have played a key role in Voss' gameplan if he had one.

Moving across from the Adelaide Crows an immediately earning the impressive nickname of "Brackets", the no 11 never really looked like a footballer but like his brother and his dad (who both had bodies like a beaten mattress), Mitch had a good football brain.

As IT nerds find out on dating websites, brains only take you so far. Being the brother of the excellent Jeremy, Mitch would forever be compared to his more adept brother. Much like Mark Waugh, about 7 Daddos, Brad "bottom bunk" Scott... and I presume most of Essendon's list have brothers too.

This year Mitch played 17 games. Generally an intercept (i.e. doesn't defend) defender, Mitch went forward and kicked 4 goals in a loss to North Melbourne. I didn't see that game, and I've never poured undiluted bleach directly into my eye sockets. Those facts may just be related.

At the end of this season Carlton decided not to offer another contract to Mitch which should save them a fortune on catering.

Thanks for the memories Brackets and welcome to the Bottom 40 for 2025.

I've never heard "bottom bunk" used as an insult before, but I love it.

Don’t be like that he said it’s what you say it you drop an egg on the floor
I was hoping he'd hang around a bit longer - I'm sure he'd have a chuckle at this.......

At least Mark gets a mention unlike Dean who is completely forgotten

The Jimmy Ormand joke to Mark Waugh is still one of the better ones though

As James Ormond arrived at the crease to bat against the Aussies, Mark Waugh greeted him with: "What are you doing out here? You're too s**t to play for England!"

Ormond’s response? "Maybe so, but at least I'm the best player in my family".

Also according to Wikipedia Dean's full name is Dean Parma Waugh

the Waughs are from NSW so shouldn't it be Dean Parmi Waugh?

Maybe that's why he was shit at cricket. They named him wrong and he never fully recovered. Should have played it safe and named him Dean Mushroom Sauce Waugh
I'm not sure "mushroom sauce" and "played it safe" belong in the same sentence anymore ...

Wouldn't want to be caught dead in front of the stumps then
