I love Moloney he is one of the hardest players at our club and can really inspire and fire up the boys. But i also have been hearing rumors of Davey getting captaincy nether the less, good combo dont you reckon?

He would be my first choice and by some distance, but will his body allow him to play the majority of games in the seasons to come (a genuine question).

He ticks all the boxes for me. Very tough, but very fair. Has the ability to impose himself physically on a game when needed, and his footy smarts have evolved past the 'hey I've got it, I'm gonna kick the cover off it' mentality. The kicker for me is the express passion on game day, be it geeing the boys up at a quarter break, or coming close to seizure when singing the club song.

It's always difficult to anoint a captain from a distance, very difficult to tell the way he goes about it behind closed doors and how he is regarded among the group but from an outside viewpoint I would love to see him get it.

Taking nothing away from Davey, but I think his 'rise to prominence' has been overstated. He was fairly prolific this year and used the footy as well as anyone in the league, but most of this was in the back half from handball receives. It may seem unfair to judge him harshly for this given this must of been the role assigned to him, but I think he's had far more damaging and meaningful seasons in the past. With all respect to Flash, I can't understand the groundswell of support for him as captain.

I prefer Moloney as captain, but I assume that McDonald has been given the nod again.

Whynot Davey, no doubt hes our highest paid player. Fantastic leader - great role model and hes contracted for 4 years.

Course Moloney does belt out the song the hardest thats gotta count for something.

Im split.

Not only shouldnt McDonald be captain - he shouldnt even be
on our list! Sorry for those that like him, but he is hack and his
best days were long long ago.

Moloney for Captain, tough player who has the respect of our
playing list and sets an example on and off the field.

Davey would be the next choice, I wouldnt be unhappy with
either, we do have alot of Indigenous players, so maybe Davey
will get the nod.

he has a wanky tattoo. wouldnt want him as skip

even though moloney is a brilliant, tough, commited player i believe nathan jones would be a good captain for the club with moloney as vice both leading from he midfield.

Interesting to hear your reasoning behind Jones. He's obviously a passionate player but for some reason his name hasn't been thrown around here as future skipper material.

Hey..Imbecilia.....show Junior the respect he deserves. He is a champ and worthy of Captain. After him, I think Brad Green , Cam Bruce look to be the men to take up the challenge. Davey & Moloney probably in the leadership group.

I mentioned it on here before but I am not sure that Moloney is the man we want leading our club. He is the perfect on field leader but to be a leader you also need to be straight as a die off the field, something Moloney hasn't always been in the past.

I have the feeling Jones may have always been seen as a bit of a McLean clone, similar passionate, hard-nut midfielder. With McLean being a bit older & Jonesy also being a bit media shy (we all remember that fateful footy show episode), he's never really had much noise about him being captain.

Somebody on Demonland (I forget who) said they have seen him out with the boys and when he speaks the kids listen.

He bleeds red and blue. He gives 100% on the field and he commands respect off it. Sounds like a monty to me.
